Date: Jan 04, 2010 at 10:39 PMPeople are forgetting to mention that regardless of seeing Hogan, Hall, Xpac, Orlando Jordan, Ric Flair, and Jeff Hardy all on Impact tonight….otherwise it was still the same cr*ppy show TNA has been putting out for years. Good wrestling, yes, but STUPID characters, horrible promos, and storylines so dumb they must’ve been written by………..oh yeah.
Vince Russo.

Date: Jan 04, 2010 at 10:56 PMI can’t believe anyone would consider either show better than the other. Other than the main event, TNA had about 20 minutes of wrestling and the rest of the show was filled with Hogan’s friends, which, if I remember, was exactly what Hogan said WOULDN’T happen. On RAW, it was the same ‘ol same ‘ol but what did you expect? Vince doesn’t consider TNA a threat. Once the ratings come in for tonight, we’ll see how RAW changes its game plan or if it even needs to. Oh, and I feel bad for anyone that thinks Jeff Hardy showing up was historic. What’ll be historic is if he shows up for an Impact taping.

Date: Jan 04, 2010 at 11:58 PMExactly right. Even before they had the six-sided ring, TNA had their own identity and they had a unique product, because they used to push the X division as their crowning jewel. Now it’s used for joke matches. TNA has some fantastic wrestlers. I love Rhyno, Raven, Samoa Joe, MCMG, etc., but honestly…
Vince Russo, all these old WCW guys. It’s been going on for years, it isn’t just tonight. They’re just completing the transformation tonight. Scott Steiner, Nash, Hall, Pac, Hogan, Flair, Sting…….I mean seriously, all they need to do is bring in Goldberg and WCW 2.0 is good to go.
Don’t get me wrong, Raw sucks too. The only really good thing about tonight was seeing Bret. It’s why I usually don’t watch Raw. The guest host thing is lame, and it’s become the focus of the show, now the wrestling. Smackdown and ECW still put out some pretty good matches, but Raw has been terrible for a long while now. It’s not that Raw is better than Impact. It’s just that Impact is terrible too.

Date: Jan 05, 2010 at 12:14 AMI was at RAW tonight and it was amazing. The crowd was into everything and it was an absolute sell-out!!! Easily 9k people there, nothing blocked off. It was nice to be in person for such a memorable show, but the Vince ending kind of blew the whole evening.

Date: Jan 05, 2010 at 2:08 AMI was initially disappointed with the ending, but now, I REALLY want to watch next week to see what happens with Bret/Vince. I REALLY wanted Impact to do well tonight, but guess what? WAY TOO MUCH SHIT WAS CRAMMED DOWN OUR THROATS. We didn’t have time to absorb ANYTHING. That was 3 hours of just chaos. Jeff Hardy’s debut should have been a HUGE shocker, but it was treated like a debut of a new wrestler. It was overshadowed by everything else. It’s just a bunch of smark insider talking. Nothing special. I mark out for Hogan everytime, but they need to provide us with something NEW, dammit. AJ Styles vs. Kurt Angle was PHENOMENAL. Beyond phenomenal. But what else did they accomplish storyline-wise tonight? How did they make us want to watch it next week? Look at the logic WWE had. They had Jericho trying to get Bret to recreate Montreal, Orton trying to get Vince to agree to help him get in the Rumble, Vince and Orton, BOTH HEELS, still don’t like each other, and they REMEMBER THEIR HISTORY. That’s AWESOME writing. By the way, I notice what Triple H did, too. I think it’s despicable.

Date: Jan 05, 2010 at 9:16 AM@Robert – agree 100% with your post. Hell, I wasn’t even sure why Kurt and AJ were fighting at the PPV to begin with. I know it was to see “who the best wrestler in the world is” but didn’t they fight before when they had a feud over Karen? At least that told a story. Last night was a good match but I’m disappointed when a match devolves into a back-and-forth of one wrestler hitting his finishing move and the other one kicking out over and over and over. Seriously, how many times did AJ use the Styles Clash? Great wrestling is not just hitting your finishing move until the other guy stops kicking out. There’s no doubt AJ/Angle was the best match on both shows, but I’ve seen much better wrestling matches on both RAW and Impact before.

Date: Jan 05, 2010 at 11:42 AMWWE had a headstart. What they should do now is how to create new main event superstars.
TNA has that blasted Jeff Hardy… I hope WWE do something to have another name to the “main event” list and they should do it fast.
For me, WWE should NOT LISTEN TO HHH, (although I’m a fan) because they should be putting superstars like Kofi Kingston, Jack Swagger, and other superstars in main event matches (in which WORTHY ENOUGH… unlike SHEAMUS which just came in recently).
WWE! PLEASE DONT LISTEN TO HHH, LISTEN TO THE FANS
