Spoilers WWE SmackDown Tapings – 1/1/2010

- Thanks to Isabella for these WWE SmackDown tapings for tonight’s show from East Rutherford, New Jersey:

Dark Match:

* Tyler Reks defeated Goldust. After the match Reks cut a heel promo about how the crowd doesn’t like his “Cali favor.”

SmackDown, Airing Friday:

* CM Punk and Drew Gallows come out to open the show. Punk cuts a heel promo about New Year’s Resolutions. It’s announced Punk will face Matt Hardy in a Beat the Clock match. It’s Beat the Clock night for a World Heavyweight Championship shot.

* CM Punk b. Matt Hardy in a Beat the Clock match.

* Dolph Ziggler vs. Kane ended in with a draw when neither could beat the clock.

* The Great Khali b. a local worker called the “Carolina Panther”. It wasn’t a Beat the Clock match and Khali won with a Khali Bomb.

* John Morrison b. WWE Intercontinental Championship Drew McIntyre via disqualification when McIntyre pushed Morrison into the referee.

* Mickie James b. Beth Phoenix with WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool and Layla on commentary. After the match, Mickie was beat down by McCool and Layla. Beth Phoenix, in an apparent babyface turn, made the save.

* Rey Mysterio b. Chris Jericho in a Beat the Clock match. Mysterio beat the block by one second.

* The Hart Dynasty b. Slam Master J, Jimmy Wang Yang & Maria. After the match, Natalya put Maria in the Sharpshooter.

* Batista had R-Truth beat in a Beat the Clock Match but when he was going for the pin with only a few seconds left, Rey Mysterio (who was on commentary for the bout), pulled the referee out of the ring. Vickie Guerrero setup Rey Mysterio vs. Batista for next week to determine the true number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Ya know, instead of wasting Jericho with the Big Show-DX storyline, why don’t they use his talent and give him a shot at the title? It will give him a reason to stay on Smackdown and stop wasting time on Raw with cutscene appearances. Plus, it will give us something fresh. Everybody is sick of Rey and Batista getting all the title shots. At this point, I even wouldn’t mind seeing either a Kane-Taker feud or team them up since the Tag Team division is so soft.

lol at andy ” no one wants to be that guy” ha but yea I wouldn’t mind a triple threat with batista, rey, and Taker for the title. It leaves them all out the rumble and put someone more interesting than Batista in the ring to face Taker.

I’m so glad Natalya is back in the ring ! It’s about time she works an actual match.
And, I love Rey getting a shot. I’m sick of Batista, and sick of this Batista VS. Rey thing going on. I’d rather have the Jericho VS. Mysterio feud, now, that was one of the best feuds of 09, seeing how they worked so well together. But, if Rey gets a shot, I’m happy

They are gonna have Batista win the world title at the royal rumble and walk into wrestlemania the world champion.It’s gonna be the undertaker vs john cena at wrestlemania and i bet a million bucks that it’ll be batista vs rey mysterion for the world title along with bret hart vs shawn michaels.
