Spoilers ECW on SyFy Tapings – Feb. 16th

- Thanks to Archie for these live spoilers from tonight’s ECW tapings:

Dark Match:

* Jimmy Wang defeats Tyler Reks with a moonsault in a good match. Reks cut a heel promo before the match.

ECW on SyFy:

* A video for the ECW history is shown. Tonight they will reveal the stars of NXT.

* Big Show & The Miz defeat Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu to retain the tag titles in a good match. Miz gets the pin on Goldust.

* It’s announced that Chris Jericho will be paired with Wade Barrett and Matt Hardy paired with Justin Gabriel, not a typo, on NXT

* Tiffany comes out but is interrupted by Zack Ryder and Rosa. Ryder is upset he didn’t get the last ECW Title shot at Christian.

* It’s announced MVP will be paired with Skipp Sheffield on NXT.

* Abraham Washington is the guest on his own show. Shelton Benjamin and Vance Archer interrupt, having words with each other. Trent Baretta and Caylen Croft come out. Vladimir Kozlov comes out and takes everyone out except Benjamin. They shake hands and that’s it.

* It’s announced Carlito will be paired with Michael Tarver and The Miz will be paired with Daniel Bryan (Danielson) on WWE NXT.

* It’s announced Christian & Heath Slater will be paired up on NXT. The ECW Title match is up next.

* Christian comes out and cuts a promo on ECW, talking about Tommy Dreamer and being proud to be the longest reigning ECW Champ in WWE history. He says tonight he’s fighting for the ECW Originals. Christian says he’s proud to be the last ECW Champion.

* It’s announced CM Punk will be with Darren Young on NXT.

* Ezekiel Jackson comes out with William Regal for the ECW Title match under Extreme Rules.

* They brawl almost the whole match. Zack Ryder runs in but Christian stops him. Rosa slaps him until Tiffany comes down and fights with Rosa. They use steps, trash can lids, shopping carts and other stuff. William Regal runs in at the end but Christian hits the Killswitch on him. Zeke puts Christian through a table for the win and the ECW Title.

* It’s announced R-Truth will be paired with David Otunga on NXT.

the miz paired with danielson omg.they pair danielson with a jericho wannabe.

what the hell could miz help danielson with ???? hes been wrestling longer than miz and is alot better in the ring than most of the wwe roster already ……damn he should of went to tna

By pairing I’m assuming they mean coaching and although Miz has earned alot of respect by upping his game the last couple years I’m not sure what he’s going to teach a master like Bryan Danielson. Granted there is usually very little reality in a reality show. Kaval aka Low Ki I had heard was going to be on this show but perhaps they felt he had too much exposure in his TNA and ROH runs to be considered a newcomer.

So with Zeke winning the title does that mean there keeping it around cuz it doesnt make sense just 2 have him win for one night

Just once could WWE do something classy? Christian has worked overtime to make ECW as good as it can possibly be, and has been a great champion. Why take the belt off him when there will be no ECW to be champion of? They couldn’t just retire the belt with him champion? What purpose does this serve?

With Christians’ ties to ECW (coming up with Edge & and ECW Original Rhino in the indies) he was actually somewhat at the least credible ECW champ. Bad idea to take the belt off of him even if there is not going to be an ECW anymore.
I agree with Valo if the belt was going to be retired then Christian should have been the last ECW champion. However IF the ECW championship will still somehow stay around …. Christian should have been the champion.
Sorry in regards to Ezekiel but I really don’t think it was his time yet. Another horrendous error by the WWE towards ECW.

the main event has been great minus interference from zack and rosa except for tiffany spearing rosa and sending her packing that was great! but i do agree zeke isnt a bad athlete but it wasnt his time and i think christian should have retained. but then again zeke does work hard and if this is the way they thought it should go who are we to judge. reme

After some thought if they really wanted to have Christian lose the belt, they should have put it on Regal in some underhanded way, and have him gain instant heat by constantly referencing himself as the final ECW champion who ended Christian’s streak, and hold it over Christian’s head, basically saying “I won the belt from you, and now it’s gone so you can never get it back.” Instant heat. But what are they really planning to do with Ahmed Johnso—I mean, Ezekiel Jackson? If they’re going to RAW, that means he’s probably just going to get beat by Sheamus on the 23rd.

I havent watched ECW since the Morisson/Punk days but I must admit, that main event was pretty damn impressive.
Christian is underrated…
