Date: Aug 14, 2011 at 4:18 PMI hope they throw a real surprise tonight and have Bryan cash in earlier than he said, considering that following a No Holds Barred match whoever wins between Christian and Orton should be vulnerable. My guess being (if the cash in happes)Christian retains, Orton “snaps” and lays into Chrtistian after the match, leading to Bryan able to cash in and win the title. Plus all the speculation is on Del Rio cashing in, so maybe instead we get something out of the blue.

Date: Aug 14, 2011 at 6:08 PMWWE=Weak Weak Ending. My sympathies to those of you who paid good money for that. Unless Nash is being worked in to put over Punk (even more) this angle should have been left on the cutting room floor.
As if it wasn’t bad enough that the WWE handed The Rock the WM28 main event a year in advance, now Nash (a bona fide has been) gets another run long after his time has come and gone. I like the idea of a third party getting involved after the match but there is much more talent in the locker room to utilize versus dragging out a guy on a legend contract.
Who’s next…?

Yeah, you’re right. Is always Cena. It can be like the old times, where the champ would feud with mid carders to, like JBL, that time he feud with Booker T, for example.

Date: Aug 14, 2011 at 6:19 PMI was prepared for Triple H to be involved, I was expecting Del Rio to cash in, but what I didn’t expect was Kevin Nash. Nor do I care, I personally was hoping for some new generation Corporation-esque angle with Triple H and Cena, but they’ve found themselves an out for that. I still hope Nash is in league with at least Triple H and Stephanie, but I doubt it very much.
I’m hoping not, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Punk get buried over the next few months.

Date: Aug 14, 2011 at 7:28 PMIf I recall correctly, the reason why ADR won the belt is because WWE is going on tour in Mexico soon. So they wanted to put the belt on ADR to go over with the Mexican fans and put him in the title picture. Raw is supposed to be live from Mexico City also too. You figure he wins the belt tonight. He’ll lose it again in some sort of triple threat match because Super Cena got screwed by Triple H, and Punk got screwed by Nash. He’ll get it right back before they go to Mexico and tour Mexico with the belt, only to end up losing it Survivor Series.
But yea, I thought the Champion had to be standing on his feet, in one corner of the ring, before they ring the bell and allow the Suitcase to be cashed in. How many times did that happen last year with The Miz, and where the bell never rung because the guy didnt get up or someone else ran into the ring to stop Miz from cashing in?
Cmon WWE, at least show a little consistency with how you handle the MITB.

Date: Aug 14, 2011 at 9:04 PMMan, you guys bitch about everything. First, you complain about Cena being champ. You finally get what you want and he loses the titl but everyone still complains. Deal with it, the creative is not catering to each and everyone of you. If it was up to the IWC our champions would be Christian an zack Ryder. And people would still find a reason to bitch in three weeks.

Date: Aug 14, 2011 at 9:52 PMDidnt mind this PPV at all. The Ending could have been alot worse if that had just left it at Punk winning like that, because we all would have known what was coming next. This way they can have Cena feud with ADR whilst CM Punk feuds with Nash, who we learn is working with HHH. Not all major feuds need to be about the title, This way Punk still stays the rebel and has his Austin moments in fighting the boss and the system.

Date: Aug 15, 2011 at 12:15 AMWhat has been missing from most storylines as of late is decent and lasting feud development. Punk-Cena was just starting to grow roots and *POOF*…insert Nash and ADR.
What made some of the best feuds, and even just decent ones, was the amount of time they (creative) developed them. Sadly with the number of PPV events on the schedule, it may never get back to what it was. It’s now the difference between a great match and a great rivalry.

Date: Aug 15, 2011 at 9:47 AMI was at the show live yesterday and the Orton v Christian match was CLEARLY the best out of all – followed closely by the Cena v Punk (and aftermath) match. I LOVED seeing Kevin Nash come out – that was a TOTAL surprise. Hope, as a result of this, there are definite plans for Nash to be more involved.
Other than the stupid “Del Rio becoming champion” part – I thought the Cena v Punk match/conclusion was one of the better in recent times/writings. As I said above, I hope that Levesque (aka HHH) is remembering what wrestling used to/should be and is helping to mix things up … and that Nash will become more involved again.
There were A LOT of CM Punk fans in the crowd – in my estimation, Punk go the biggest “pop” out of all.
The Sheamus v Henry “through the wall” part was AWESOME live.
Believe it or not … at least watching it live … the Kelly Kelly v Phoenix match was not all that bad. Not sure how it translated onto television, but “live” it actually was kind of fun to watch and Kelly Kelly didn’t look as ridiculously “fake” as she normally does (on TV). Just my opinion, mind you.
Other than that, the show was decent – though I was disappointed that there were only six matches. SummerSlam USED TO BE the second biggest show after WrestleMania … before they went to the “one PPV per month” over-saturated format.

Date: Aug 15, 2011 at 9:54 AMFor all of those who seem to “hate” John Cena and accuse him of not being able to wrestle, clearly you haven’t been to a live show and seen him (yet). BOTH he and CM Punk put on a REALLY GREAT show/match last night – they BOTH deserve props.
The ending – where Punk won – seemed a bit abrupt, to be honest. Made me wonder if something went wrong and they signaled each other to end it OR if there was some stupid PPV time-limit constraint they needed to keep within in. It wasn’t as “spectacular/show-stopping” an ending as I would have otherwise expected.
Oh well, will be fun to watch the “aftermath” show tonight on RAW – those are usually the more fun to watch.

Date: Aug 15, 2011 at 2:22 PMOrton vs. Christian and Punk vs. Cena were both excellent, PPV quality matches, props to the WWE for that.
I noticed Orton got hurt up pretty good, despite the fact that Christian took a lot more bumps. Really, very impressed by Christian. I would rather Christian had retained and turned in a long title run, but what can you do. The WWE is clearly against having the belt on a heel for very long. I just wonder what they’re going to do with Christian now, as this wasn’t a squash match at all, and Christian wasn’t devalued much by Orton winning. He should still be considered a top level talent.
The Cena/Punk situation is a lot more interesting, and there are a LOT of directions they could go. It’s been quite a while since the WWE has had any real intrigue at the Championship level.
I also OK with Beth losing to Kelly Kelly at this point, as it allows for a longer run for Beth in the spotlight. I have little doubt she’ll get the belt eventually, if only for a brief time.
Really, very few complaints with the WWE at the moment, they’ve clearly upped their game. Six months ago I didn’t give a rat’s ass if I watched RAW or not, and often skipped it in favor of reading a summary, but I’ve actually been looking forward to watching it over the last several weeks.
