WWE Bragging Rights PPV Update, Dark Match from RAW, WWE at MSG, More
By Marc Middleton on September 28, 2009Source: PWInsider
- RAW will return to Albany, New York on December 26th.
- The main event for WWE’s November 16th RAW event at Madison Square Garden in New York is being advertised as John Cena and DX vs. Randy Orton and Legacy, likely a dark main event.
- The dark match before tonight’s RAW in Albany saw Primo defeat Eric Escobar. Escobar cut a heel promo before the match on the fans in Albany. Primo won the match with a cross body.
- As noted before, promotional material overseas for WWE’s upcoming Bragging Rights pay-per-view said the show would feature tri-branded matches. The theme for the show will be “bragging rights” over which brand is better. No confirmed word yet if WWE will go with the tri-brand matches or just do RAW vs. SmackDown as advertising material suggests. There are plans to bring back the fan voting element of Cyber Sunday, which Bragging Rights is replacing.

Why doesn’t WWE just scrap ECW and Superstars and give Raw and Smackdown two shows apiece. I mean, seriously, if they’re going to have a PPV every 3 weeks, it would be nice to have 6 shows in that span to actually build up a feud instead of having the same PPVs for 4 straight months. Just make it Raw on Monday, Smackdown on Friday, Raws secondary show on Thursday and Smackdowns secondary show on Tuesday. On the secondary shows, you could still have the main event consist of the big time stars/titles, but the rest of the show could showcase lesser, ECW type talents. It’s just too difficult right now to have that third wheel, ECW championship actually mean anything. Just an idea, even though Vince would probably never even consider it.

I remember when Bobby Lashley was ECW Champion. Back then, the title actually ment something because you had a tough competitor behind t.

Well this news just sucks. So much for even seeing a title match at that PPV which is one of the main selling points of going. No one cares about which brand is “better” sounds like a knock off of survivor series. I kinda regret getting tix for this PPV months ago when they went on sale assuming it was going to be Cyber Sunday and might have seen a good match or two
