Date: Nov 22, 2009 at 11:40 AMIt’s WWE’s way really. I think they’ve gave her the message to lose weight quite a bit and it doesn’t seem to be going in. Undoubtedly it’s affected her work too because she is no way as sharp as she used to be – I think WWE are well within their right to do this if she isn’t listening. Don’t forget she’s also pursuing musical aspirations outside of the company which may be affecting her focus too – there’s some concern in the company about that also – I will be posting an article on that soon.

Date: Nov 22, 2009 at 11:47 AMPersonally I think it’s shit what WWE are doing.Mickie looks great the way she is & going about things the way they are they’re sending out a very bad message to all of the young girls who look up to the divas as role models.
We always hear of stories of people getting injured trying to emulate their favourite wrestlers. I can’t wait until some poor girl ends up in hospital because she’s collapsed from anorexia trying to look like her favourite diva. It will happen. Mark my words…..
On a side note, do WWE wellness test for slimming tablets?

Date: Nov 22, 2009 at 11:48 AMI’m curious, was she aware that they were going to run the video or not? I mean, I believe she was, but this report almost makes it seem as though she didn’t know. And yes, I agree with everyone else, it’s cold on WWE’s part, but as an employer, they have every right to hold their employees to the standards they desire. But here’s a question for you: why is it all right for WWE to get on Mickie’s case about her weight, yet Matt Hardy is huge and it’s definitely affecting his in ring ability? Have they requested that Matt get back in shape or do they hold different standards for different performers?

Date: Nov 22, 2009 at 12:12 PMI agree with Shawn’s view of this. WWE does have the right to hold people accountable, but the way they are doing it with Mickie is cold. That is a good point Shawn brings up about Matt. The only thing I could say is that right now Mickie is more high profile than Matt I guess. However WWE needs to be cautious as well. Mickie is still IMO the most popular diva WWE has right now. The fact that she was chosen captain over Divas champ Melina says that. Her pursuit of a music career outside the company may be a signal that once her contract is up, she may be outta there.

Date: Nov 22, 2009 at 12:32 PMMatt Hardy didnt put on weight, it was due to the problem he had with his intestines (or whatever it was) where they tore, and burst. The guy basically nearly died because of it, and is probably still not 100% from the operation he had to fix it.
Just for the record though, WWE has done the same thing to quite a few male wrestlers in recent years, including the likes of Big Show, Umaga and they even let Eugene go shortly after they signed him, because he put on a lot of weight.
It was also a big reason Chris Harris didnt last long.

Date: Nov 22, 2009 at 2:07 PMThe difference between Mickie and Natalya is that WWE actually asked Natalya to bulk up, they didn’t ask that of Mickie. They have warned her a lot about her weight privately and her live showing of discontent during and after her match with Gail Kim a few months on RAW didn’t do much to help her cause. I think they have tried the softly softly approach and are now sending a stronger indication of where they stand with these ways. I don’t think it will last too long.

Hey I like Matt, but if he isn’t 100%, don’t put him on TV. It’s not like he’s doing anything right now. I would have put him in FCW for a while to let him get back in fighting shape. I just find it funny that back in the 80s and 90s WWE had wrestlers of all shapes and sizes and still put on entertaining matches. Now everybody is wishing for the good ol’ days. Makes you think.

Thats fucked up how they did a segment like that calling her piggyjames. Wwe likes to harass and embaress people. I mean if she gained weight give her time to loose it not embrass her on national tv.. Thats degrating to her and honestly TNA is all about wrestling and i would say fuck wwe and go to tna.. Micke James is pretty reguardless and as a company they handle things wrong.. Plus TNA focuses alot of womens wrestling where wwe has lame womens matches and the same fueds and nothing interesting involving the women.. I cant believe they did that to her..I knew it was real when she cried and she deserves to leave and be happy..

It’s not a coincidence that they are all attractive by most guy’s standards. Now with Mickie I think they should leave her alone. Most men like their women with curves, which is not the same as being fat. I always wandered where the idea that being 6’2 and 119 pounds equaling sexy came from. A lot of models are gorgeous. I can’t deny that, but many could stand to gain a few pounds. If any models are reading this, I am not talking about all of you.

Personally, I think the reason James seems to have lost her touch is because she is getting bored. She has always seemed quite passionate about the industry and the feuds she has been getting over the last few years have been weak and she hasn’t really had the chance to dig her teeth into anything – if the WWE did indeed treat their Divas as TNA do, I think you would find Mickie to be as good as ever.
In regards to her looks and her weight, I’m goning to reference two comments on here already. Someone said she’s the hottest Diva, behind Kelly Kelly. Now, I think Kelly is way too plastic and she appeals to the younger (more easily pleased) audience. Mickie has that something special that older men like. Yes, like someone said, a little bit of meat, but she isn’t fat at all. She’s a natural beauty, like Monroe. Ask an older woman who grew up during the Star Wars era about who they preferred out of Han Solo and Luke. It’s exactly the same. Hell, why’d you think Johnny Deep is so desired? He has exactly the same appeal.
