WWE Reportedly Drops Money in the Bank, Kristofferson Talks Son in WWE

Posted by Marc Middleton on Monday, January 23rd, 2012

- Actor Kris Kristofferson spoke with The Toronto Sun this weekend and had the following to say about his son Jody Kristofferson signing a WWE developmental deal:

“I identify with him so much, because people thought I was just as crazy as he is when I decided I was going to Nashville. But he loves it and he’s committed to it just like I was with songwriting. And to be able to do what you love to do — you can’t get better than that.”

- WWE officials have apparently decided to drop the Money in the Bank pay-per-view this July and replace it with another concept – the TLC pay-per-view. As noted before, they have been planning to bring the Money in the Bank ladder match back at WrestleMania this year.

Unless the schedule changes again, Vengeance will be replacing TLC in December for this year.

    Thank you!
It was a mistake to take the MITB match off Mania anyway. This is good news!

As long as we get 2 MITB matches at wrestlemania, I am fine.

I’m much happier with there just being one money in the bank match per year – and it should be at Wrestlemania.

Having two “Mr Money in the Banks” simultaneously dilutes the prestige of it.

Gimmick ppv’s should just be dropped. They just make the stipulations less exciting. Hell In A Cell matches barely mean anything now, same with Elimination Chamber. One Mitb at WrestleMania is plenty and since it is for ANY world title, it makes it a little more unpredictable and interesting rather than one per brand.

But if the insist on keeping gimmick PPVs then Mitb or TLC should stay and Fatal 4 Way be retired.

RAMSES 2 they already drop Vengeance from the PPV lineup. Glad MITB is drop from the schedule. It should just be a WM match nothing else. Last year was special because of CM Punk. Now WWE need to bring back the old PPV.

I believe Bragging Rights is the one that was actually dropped. Makes sense since wrestlers are shared between shows again, there’s really no Raw vs. Smackdown anymore, and that was really the premise of Bragging Rights.

I like the idea that MITB is saved for Wrestlemania, because there is only one briefcase holder instead of two, and it gets more guys on the Wrestlemania card who aren’t involved in another storyline.

    Amen.

I think 1 money in the bank match would make more sence and plus putting that on the biggest stage of them all make it more interesting trust me.Who care about tlc and money in the bank and vengence ppv it was more fun when we had 4-6 ppv a year more time to build feud.

Just drop it all together. It’s too predictable now.

i’m calling it now, the return of “The Great American Bash” and “Armageddon” in the WWE PPV names list. Armageddon should be December if TLC is dropped. and the GAB in July. in fact ditch all of the lame gimmick theme PPVs (except Extreme Rules, but just let the Extreme Rules name become a subname, hell let it be Backlash: Extreme Rules.

HAHAHAHA OK MY POINT IS THAT NONE OF THE PPVS YOU PUT INSTED OF THE MONEY IN YEN BANK THIS YEAR WILL NO BE AS GOOD, MONEY IN THE BANK WAS GOOD LAST YEAR AND THE YEAR BEFORE. AND THE BEST PART YOU HAVE YOUNG TALENT SHINE AND WIN MITB. I DON’T THINK HAVING 3 MATCHES OF MONEY IN THE BANK IN ONE YEAR IS BAD. IS AS EXCITING AS THE ROYAL RUMBLE.

Well put by everybody, I said it before and one
more time, the gimmick ppv’s take the excitement
and unprodictability out of the match. Not during
the match but the build to it.

Ok, I have no problem about MITB being at WM. But I do have a problem with them scrapping the PPV. It held one of the biggest matches of the decade, go on WWE, scrap Survivor Series too…

Well I would be all for dropping a lot more PPV expect the 4 major ones. To me there are way to many PPV and not a lot of time to build it up. I remember back in the days how it was only Wrestlmania, Summerslam, Suviror Sereis and the Royal Rumble to me that was enough. I made the story lines mean something because they had time to build it up.

Now onto the topic I think they should have never taken Money in the Bank out of Wrestlmania because it took away for those young guys to shine. So good for WWE for making the smart move.

I likw the MITB match but there should just be the one at WM. I didnt like the 2 MITB matches when they just put bodies in the match you knew had no chance of winning. At least with one it will contain quality superstars.

You know, they could still keep the Money In The Bank PPV. It’s not like they all have to be named after the gimmick matches shown on them, after all.

Agree with Nicholas about dropping some ppv’s maybe down to six and even have a 3 hour raw once a month to compensate

They need to bring back King of the Ring…It was a good way to really put a midcarder to main event status and could get notches on other midcarders.

@RAMSES 2 I think your ideas are pathetic everyone knows how prestiges the MITB is in WM fuck the MITB ppv it killed the excitement, in a matter of fact fuck all the ppv’s that are named after a match.

WWE doesn’t know what to do with their ppvs this year. The MITB ppv was something I would look foward to every year.

    they were good times
