Vince McMahon Makes Changes to WWE Films

Posted by Marc Middleton on Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

- Variety reports today that Vince McMahon has taken full control over how WWE Films distributes their future movies. Samuel Goldwyn Films will now handle WWE’s theatrical releases while Vivendi Entertainment will distribute the direct-to-DVD movies.

According to Variety, WWE Studios will finance and produce nine movies through 2010. They’re hoping to retain the rights to movies in case WWE starts its on TV channel, they can air them there.

Budgets for the movies will be in the $5 million range so that’s at least $45 million that WWE will be spending on their film division over the next few years.

I’ll care when they start making watchable movies. See No Evil, The Condemned and Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia are the only ones that I liked.

I have never liked a single one of their movies and I simply cannot understand how they are successful. They always seem to lack any decent plot and the acting is sub par.

OMG DO THEY THINK THEIR MOVIES ARE GOOD?

SEE NO EVEIL WAS MEDIOCRE, MARINE WAS PLAIN GARBAGE AND NO NOT BCUZ CNA IS IN IT IT WAS GARBAGE, THE STORY AND ACTION SCENES WERE PLAIN HORRIBLE!

BEHIND ENEMY LINES 3 SUCKED! REALLY 1 AND 2 WERE GREAT BUT WWE HAD A BRIGHT IDEA TO MAKE 3 AND BOY WAS IT CRAP! REALLY FOX DID A BETTER JOB WITH THE SERIES!

ALSO 12 ROUNDS WAS JUST LIKE THE MARINE SAME DAMN PLOT! ALSO THE MOVIE WAS JUST A PAIN TO WATCH! IF YOU PUT 12 ROUDS IN THE SAME RANKING WITH DIE HARD, WOW YOU HAVEN’T SEEN ALOT OF MOVIES.

MARINE 2 WAS A HELL OF A LOT BETTER BUT THE SAME DAM NPLOT AS MARINE 1 AND 12 ROUNDS! CAN WWE THINK OF ANOTHER PLOT OTHER THAN- GIRLS GETS KIDNAPPED SO GUY SAVES HER? REALLY WWE IS REPETITIVE BUT SO ARE THE MOVIES?

THE ONE WITH STONE COLD WAS DECENT.

I can’t begin to understand how easy it is for people to just say things… on here – “the best wwe film was The Scorpion King”? Alex you should just go ahead and argue with all caps a-hole and ramble incoherent thoughts while taking your favorite drug of choice. WWE is just trying to pull more money in from different sources and expand their horizons which in sense could and probably will bring fresh viewers based on one’s own individual taste. It’s a genius idea but cranking out multiple movies whether they suck or not… one of them is bound to be a hit and one hit is all they need for success out of this year.

Now hold on just a second. I hated 12 Rounds and the Marine 1. Just bored the hell out of me. I was kinda happy when Cena almost died about 50 times.
The Marine 2 was a big step up from the Marine 1 but thats because of better acting and a little more detail.
The Codemned by far the best WWE movie to date. Stone Cold was awesome.
See No Evil was pretty cool. I mean we have all pictured Kane in a horror movie and said he would be good in one. I myself would just like to see a couple young adults locked in a house with Kane for a day or two. You know the one with the mask who tombstoned Pete Rose a couple times. That Kane.
As for the next movies they may put out. Creativity is much needed. Maybe leave the saving the girl plot out of it because they’ve milked that dry.
