Update on Chris Jericho and WWE, What Happened After the 900th RAW

Posted by Marc Middleton on Monday, August 30th, 2010

- After last night’s RAW in Boston, Sheamus defended the WWE Title against John Cena and The Undertaker in a steel cage match. Sheamus escaped through the cage door to win while Taker and Cena were going at it. After the match, Kane and Taker brawled backstage while The Nexus came down to attack Cena. MVP, Matt Hardy, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne and John Morrison came down to make the save. Everyone hit their finishers on Wade Barrett to end the show.

- As seen on RAW last night, Chris Jericho said that he was finished with WWE if he did not win the WWE Title at Night of Champions. It’s no secret that Jericho’s contract expires soon and there has been talk of him leaving. It’s not known yet what the plan for Night of Champions is but apparently Jericho had not re-signed with WWE as of a week ago. That doesn’t mean that he hasn’t re-signed already or isn’t planning on re-signing. It’s said that if he does stick around with the company, Jericho wants more time off to tour with Fozzy and spend time with family.

Jericho honestly deserves whatever he wants from them. He was pulling double and even triple shifts some weeks, appearing on all brands as well as live shows. You hear about Cena and the like being chosen to head the company’s talent because they’re work horses. Jericho puts ‘em all to shame, in that regard and much, much more.

How can Jericho want the World Title in one breath and more time off in the other? I think WWE is seeing the last of Jericho now but, with TNA’s easier schedule he may be back wrestling sooner than people expect….

lmao.. Jericho would not go to TNA. It’s been pretty freakin clear over the years that both sides are not interested.

@Treg “Jericho would not go to TNA.” Isn’t that what they said about Flair? Anything is possible in the world of wrestling

@ Rich And you feel that what he has said in the past is enough to stop him?? If the money is right and the workload is good then anyone will consider working anywhere.

@ Orkyboy dream on buddy if you think Chris Jericho would every want to work for Eric and Hogan. Those are the 2 main reason Jericho left WCW. Plus Chris Jericho is a very loyal wrestler and I don’t feel TNA can afford Jericho at this point. TNA has bad money trouble and I don’t think Jericho wants to go to a sinking ship at this point in his career.

On to the topic it is up to Jericho. He most likely will take some time off to spend with his family. Lets not forget he has a game show TV coming up. So the guy is going to be busy. I just don’t see Jericho every going to any other company but the WWE at this point in his career.

@Orkyboy: that’s cause flair is all about the money these days, as he lives above his means and marries anything in sight, leading to like 20 or 30 ex wives he has to pay, case in point, flair’s contract is with panda energy, not tna, therefore if (in the very unlikely event) tna went broke, slick ric would still get paid.

as for jericho, he deserves more time off and in the end i think he’ll get what he wants and re sign. wwe would have to be totally stupid to let someone like him go.

Jericho would never go to TNA hes said it time and time again that he hates the storylines an he feels the company itself has no direction. And besides nobody will match wat hes making now in WWE. He may take time off lets not forget that he has in the past but he is also one of the best wrestlers alive period and he will be back because he loves to wrestle. I think its a travesty that he hasnt been given more time as WWE champion. Nobody cuts a promo like Y2J

I have to agree that Jericho is one of the best. He deserves to have time off. He really is the best at what he does…I hope his time off is not that long.
