Date: Dec 26, 2009 at 7:19 PMHindred- technically you’re right. BUT- we tend to name decades based on the tens digit (the fifties, the sixties, etc). By your technically correct logic the fifties began in 1951, and they’re last year was 1960. This is bonkers. As far as society and history are concerned, 2009 is the last year of this decade, just as 1959 was the last year of the fifties.
