Posted by Marc Middleton on Monday, August 23rd, 2010

- John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus in a steel cage match is being advertised for next Monday’s 900th RAW from Boston.

- Former WWE stars Sho Funaki and TAKA Michinoku were backstage visiting friends at WWE’s events in Japan this weekend.

- WWE’s Dean Malenko and John Laurinaitis oversaw the tour this weekend and were scouting talent in Japan. WWE held tryouts that were setup by Funaki.

- Chris Jericho did an angle at the WWE show in Japan on Friday night where he got into it with Pro Wrestling NOAH star Yoshihiro Takayama, who was sitting at ringside. Jericho did something similar with The Great Muta years ago.

Funaki #1 Smackdown announcer! How did that guy keep his job as long as he did.

Funaki was a decent wrestler from what I’ve seen just not used that greatly, and he was an announcer?

The purpose of some wrestlers is to build up other wrestlers and make them look good. Funaki was great at that, and a solid wrestler as well, that’s why they kept him around as long as they did.

Kai En Tai may seem pretty dorky, but they definitely had the Attitude. I remember a raw segment where they dragged Val Venis to the back and chopped off his dick. IM NOT KIDDING!
