News on WWE Trying to Get Jeff Hardy to Stay, What’s Next for Him and More

WWE officials attempted to convince Jeff Hardy to stay with the company until the very last minute, but were unsuccessful.

He was offered a big money deal that would allow him to avoid working house shows and only appear at television tapings and pay-per-view events. WWE has never offered a deal like that before, as even Undertaker and Shawn Michaels still work house shows, though both will be doing less than in the past.

Company officials were also looking to sign Hardy to a merchandise contract that would permit WWE to continue to create additional merchandise and cash in on his popularity during his hiatus. This would also allow WWE to prevent him from going elsewhere since he’s contractually free to negotiate with whomever he chooses.

Hardy has been receiving several large money offers to wrestle on the independent circuit, but has given no indication he’ll wrestle outside a WWE ring. The feeling is that if he was going to wrestle, he will do so in WWE. He will, however, be making a few personal appearances.

Currently, Hardy is concentrating on trying to get his reality television show off the ground.

    I saw good riddance. If he doesn’t have the passion to wrestle, they don’t need him. There’s plenty of guys in that locker room, looking to get a chance, that live and die wrestling. They’re the one’s that would wrestle on some indy show for 20 bucks, just because it’s in their blood. Hardy is stuck up and, I feel, is doing it mainly for the money. Have fun smoking weed, filming reality TV and making money, Jeff. WWE will be fine without you.

    The guy needed a break. It can’t be easy going from eternal mid-carder to main eventing ppvs, and all the extra attention and whatnot has to wear a person out. He’d been going all-out against Edge till Edge tore himself up, and then Punk afterward without any break. If the guy wants to take some time off and toke up, more power to him. He put out 110% the whole time in front of the cameras, he’s earned it.

    Why if he wants to take some time off does that mean he doesn’t have a passion for wrestling? It’s just like The Rock. Heaven forbid they have other interests outside wrestling! Shock and horror! What do people want, for him to keep wrestling when he wants a break and burnout, or have to take heavy drugs to get through it? Why do some fans want these guys to hold on and hold on…they aren’t machines. At least when he comes back, people will miss him and he’s not the guy you’ll have to drag out of the ring years from now like Flair or more than likely HHH, He has more than earned a break.

    DDoing it mainly for money? I can see why he is doing it mainly for money due to him turning down a bigger money contract than he had before and also turning down big money deals with independent wrestling. Jeez ur stupid.

    Leizar=Fuckin idiot!

    You obviously havent been watching wrestling very long. Jeff Hardy has always been the guy to give us those holy shit moments. And this past year he has torn his body apart for us even more. Hes been through Ladder matches, TLC matches, Cage matches, I quit matches, so on…

    He deserves this break. No matter what anyone says.

    Anyone who questions his passion is incorrect. Hardy is the ultimate risk taker. Nobody would sacrifice their body like he has over the years if he did not have a passion for what he does. Some guys just need a break from time to time and hardy is one of them. You could question his focus, but I can respect his decision for taking advantage of numerous opportunities in his life. Not many of these guys are fortunate to get more than one option.

    bottom line is Jeff gives more than Cena HHH or anybody he has physically destroyed himself he needs to reast heal and see how he feels after 6 months to a year if Jeff can’t be himself he won’t wrestle. Matt hasn’t been as carzy over the years does he love it more probably its his life Jeff has other intrest he should be free to do that he owes us nothing. y2j did fozzy TV ect came back refreshed and hes still one of the best in the ring.
