John Cena on Which Young Stars are Standing Out in WWE

Posted by W-E on Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

During a recent appearance on the ESPN Fantasy Focus podcast on Wednesday, WWE star John Cena was asked which young wrestlers are standing out in this new youth movement within the company. He said talent like Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Kofi Kingston, Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Skip Sheffield, Daniel Bryan, Michael McGillicutty, Husky Harris, Alex Riley and The Miz are really breaking through.

Cena added, “Finding talent is not a problem. I think we have a flux of young talent. There is more young talent now than there was in 2002 when there was a similar change of the guard.”

    he’s not world heavyweight title material like everyone thought at first but i could see him winning the tag team titles along with cody rhodes..not a bad team considering all the other crappy teams in wwe..atleast cody rhodes has tag team experience

    Nice for the WWE to have all this young talent, they got to learn and handle them rite. Cena is right for a change, two things that need to happen. Cena needs to turn heel and WWE needs to drop its PG rating, oh sorry and no more stupid WWE releases

    What about Kaval? Anyway, it’s good that WWE is having all this young talent. They just have to use them right. And Mark and others complaining about the WWE PG rating, stop. The rating is not going to change anytime soon. It’s not even the reason why WWE had been unwatchable at times. The rating is irrelevant. The real blame goes to bad booking (not as bad as TNA but still) and Triple H making sure that he and his desired guys were always on top burying other talent. Don’t forget that WWE was PG in the 80s and early 90s if not even more so. The reason they even went to TV-14 in the Attitude Era was so they could compete with WCW during the Monday Night Wars. I’ve said all I wanted to say.

    @me

    When the WWE was getting more mainstream in the 80s, you started to get characters that got children to watch wrestling like Junkyard Dog, Koko B Ware, Bushwhackers, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Million Dollar Man, and especially Hulk Hogan. Even George “The Animal” Steele was PG when he was fighting Macho Man Randy Savage for the affections of Miss Elizabeth. During the PG Hogan Era, the ratings were much higher than the Attitude Era.

    The PG era wont go anywhere unless Linda McMahon dies lol or just drops out of the race she’s the one who made it PG because of her run for Senate, shes selfish she didnt care about the wrestling fans but her own self gain and what her candidates would say about her and her involvement in wrestling and it being to violent and raunchy etc…

    There is no way Vince McMahon would make WWE PG if you’re a fan of the WWE than you would know how Vince operates and how he likes it crazy and unpredictable we’re talking about a man who faked his own death had men kiss his azz did sexual storylines with divas and to top that wanted to do a storyline line about him and his daughter (Stephanie) in some sort of sick incest love affair…

    Stop blaming Vince for this PG crap because its all Linda McMahons fault

    Wait what? Since when are guys like David Otunga, Skip Sheffield, Husky Harris, etc., “breaking through”? Just because they were on NXT? If Otunga and Skip weren’t in this stupid Nexus nonsense, they wouldn’t be on TV.

    And if he’s going to name drop NXT people, what about Kaval, who just “won” Season 2, and was far and away the best wrestler on there? Yes, even better than “Michael McGuillicuty”, who should be ashamed of letting them change his name, and NOT honoring his pops and grand-dad.

    Cena forgot about John Morrison. The most underrated guy in WWE. Christian and Morrison are doomed.

    Everyone is saying what about Kaval, Morrison and Ziggler? Well they are not really that young at 30

    But then again so are Barrett and Hennig so…

    However Bourne should be up their and Otunga should not be up their… but I kinda like Sheffield

    lol how can you say Sheffield should be up there over Otunga? you moron Barret. Otunga, Gabriel and Byran were the only ones who we’re even entertaining to watch the rest weren’t… Sheffield i will admit once the Nexus thig started at he got rid of his being “dumb” gimmick then he became interesting…

    And as for Ziggler i dont know why ppl like him so much…? he’s a Mr. Perfect rip off and hiis theme sucks his finisher is even worse he’s just lame he needs a better finisher and a better theme the sleeper hold is the only thing that he does good
