Full Transcript of CM Punk’s Promo from the End of RAW

Posted by Marc Middleton on Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

- Thanks to The Heyman Hustle website for the following transcript of CM Punk’s promo on RAW last night:

“John Cena, while you lay there, hopefully as uncomfortable as you possibly can be, I want you to listen to me.

I want you to digest this because before I leave in 3 weeks with your WWE Championship, I have a lot of things I want to get off my chest.

I don’t hate you, John. I don’t even dislike you. I do like you. I like you a hell of a lot more than I like most people in the back.

I hate this idea that you’re the best. Because you’re not. I’m the best. I’m the best in the world. There’s one thing you’re better at than I am and that’s kissing Vince McMahon’s ass.

You’re as good as kissing Vince McMahon’s ass as Hulk Hogan was. I don’t know if you’re as good as Dwayne though. He’s a pretty good ass kisser. Always was and still is.

Whoops! I’m breaking the fourth wall! (Punk waves to the camera)

I am the best wrestler in the world.

I’ve been the best since day one when I walked into this company. And I’ve been vilified and hated since that day because Paul Heyman saw something in me that nobody else wanted to admit. That’s right, I’m a Paul Heyman guy. You know who else was a Paul Heyman guy? Brock Lesnar. And he split just like I’m splitting. But the biggest difference between me and Brock is I’m going to leave with the WWE Championship.

I’ve grabbed so many of Vincent K. McMahon’s brass rings that it’s finally dawned on me that there just that, they’re completely imaginary. The only thing that’s real is me and the fact that day in and day out, for almost six years, I have proved to everybody in the world that I am the best on this microphone, in that ring, even in commentary! Nobody can touch me!

And yet no matter how many times I prove it, I’m not on your lovely little collector cups. I’m not on the cover of the program. I’m barely promoted. I don’t get to be in movies. I’m certainly not on any crappy show on the USA Network. I’m not on the poster of WrestleMania. I’m not on the signature that’s produced at the start of the show. I’m not on Conan O’Brian. I’m not on Jimmy Fallon. But the fact of the matter is, I should be.

This isn’t sour grapes. But the fact that Dwayne is in the main event at WrestleMania next year and I’m not makes me sick!

Oh hey, let me get something straight. Those of you who are cheering me right now, you are just as big a part of me leaving as anything else. Because you’re the ones who are sipping on those collector cups right now. You’re the ones that buy those programs that my face isn’t on the cover of. And then at five in the morning at the airport, you try to shove it in my face and get an autograph and try to sell it on Ebay because you’re too lazy to go get a real job.

I’m leaving with the WWE Championship on July 17th. And hell, who knows, maybe I’ll go defend it in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Maybe…I’ll go back to Ring of Honor.

(Punk looks at the camera and waves)

Hey, Colt Cabana, how you doing?

The reason I’m leaving is you people. Because after I’m gone, you’re still going to pour money into this company. I’m just a spoke on the wheel. The wheel is going to keep turning and I understand that. Vince McMahon is going to make money despite himself. He’s a millionaire who should be a billionaire. You know why he’s not a billionaire? Because he surrounds himself with glad-handed, non-sensical, douchebag (censored) yes men, like John Laurinaitis, who’s going to tell him everything he wants to hear, and I’d like to think that maybe this company will better after Vince McMahon is dead. But the fact is, it’s going to be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family.

Let me tell you a personal story about Vince McMahon alright. We do this whole (anti) bully campaign

(Mic cut off.)”

Could this signify the re-emergence of the Attitude Era? Punk, much like Austin did originally, could be the one to start it again. I would love to see unpredictability in the writing and shows that push the boundaries of what is PC and acceptable again.

I don’t believe for a second this wasn’t all approved by Vince McMahon. But the funny thing is, this is all completely true, and Vince is so deluded he think’s it’s just part of the storyline.

I don’t care that he bashes the WWE. But at least do it after you leave not while you are still employed by them. I don’t blame Vince for indefinitely suspending him after that. Vince did the right thing only I would have done it in the middle of the “shoot-promo” that Mr. Punk or shall I say Mr. Brooks was cutting. What a loser he is; he lost all of my respect for what he did.

ummm… you people do realize this was a work, right? If this wasn’t scripted and planned, no way his mic would have worked to begin with. They operate those things to air in the arena and on t.v. in the production truck. Punk may be outspoken, but he’s not an idiot. This was all a set-up.

CM Punk was and always will be one of the greatest heels of all time. @doomsdae he is just saying what everyone has been thinking, its the reason why batista, chavo, and others left. The direction if wrong in the wwe. He right now is the only reason I watch wwe. Everything else is the same old snoozefest. Watch some of his youtube arguements and promos. Granted this all maybe a storyline, he is doing what he wants and that to piss off all the “marks” of the wwe and cena.

Punk spoke the truth and its storylined anyway, you must be a Cena fan, Punk went out there and finally told those collector cup buyers wat he thought lol and cena shirt wearers hes through being behind super cena. Shoot, Rhodes has more talent than Cena. If punk wasnt leavin id had hoped punk took the title. I like this storyline and wer this angle could go now lets see if creative can keep it up

For the first time, I wondered if Punk not re-signing was all a work. Because as has already been mentioned, no way WWE lets somebody say all the things he said unscripted. The Promo had to have been scripted from the beginning to the mic being “cut off” to Punk’s antics right afterward. So maybe it’s all a work. I don’t know now. And isn’t that way they work for?

That was fucking fantastic. Punk IS the best of all worlds when it comes to the business… hands down. Danielson may be the best wrestler in the world, but Punk is the total package.

That said… total work, and I love it. FINALLY something done RIGHT in this dickbag company. There is NO WAY they would let Punk talk smack about the company if he was on his way out. They’d bury him (like they do EVERYBODY who’s leaving), and that’d be that. Not complaining. WWE NEEDS PUNK. Anyone who’s contract is coming up NEVER mentions it unless they’ve resigned.

Now, if Punk DOES leave, then it’s still a fantastic angle… until he leaves, then nobody can really take advantage of it. Hell, Punk may pull a Danielson. Leave, work some Indy shows, then shot up at Survivor Series or something.

@Big T – Glad you can see the light about Montreal. Most people are so blinded by Bret and his ramblings, they can’t see it for what it is/was. Greatest angle in wrestling history. Too bad WCW dropped the ball with it. VInce didn’t. Took that shit and RAN right to the top.

By the way, I still hope this could mean Attitude Era all over again, maybe CM Punk wearing SCSA t-shirt was to refer to that. Stone Cold started the attitude era in 1998, CM Punk wearing a Stone Cold shirt starts it again in 2011. Let’s just hope….

What I reckon happened is to try and get the fans worked up vince gave punk a mic and told him to to just run his mouth (I imagine this is why punks twitter at the moment reads “I’m in full “what are they going to do, fire me?” mode”). Chances are he would’ve continued but vince reached for the mute button when he mentioned the mcmahons then decided to cut him off after hearing “personal story.”

Either way this is deffo a work. If it was a shoot they would’ve cut him off when he mentioned hulk hasbeen or even as far as paul heyman, plus the broadcast delay means they could’ve stopped any time.

I think Punk turned me into a fan. That was great mic work. Of course it was scripted, no man would ever speak that bad of a company while still employed. Is Punk the new Stone Cold, I dont think so. But I would love to see the Attitude Era again. Cena should go bad but not corporate bad.

Don’t be surprised to see Cena go corporate because he will cast as the “company man” and Punk will become the new anti-hero similar to SCSA. He will not be the next SCSA. He will be the next incarnation of CM Punk. An SCSA attitude with a style that only Punk has. So as Cena makes the heel turn as McMahon’s enforcer, Punk turns anti-hero and battles McMahon and Cena in similar fashion as the SCSA vs. The Corporation fued.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon suspends CM Punk
    June 27, 2011
Tags: Raw: June 27, 2011, CM Punk

Raw’s abrupt conclusion Monday night was not due to technical difficulties. The decision to suddenly end the broadcast in that manner was made by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, who gave this quote to WWE.com:

“CM Punk was suspended indefinitely for his unprofessional conduct as soon as Raw went off the air.”

With his WWE contract expiring on July 17, one can only assume that this suspension effectively terminates CM Punk’s tenure with WWE.

UPDATE: As of Tuesday, June 28, WWE and CM Punk have reached an agreement that Punk will fulfill his non-televised live event obligations for the remainder of his contract, through July 17. Furthermore, both sides have mutually agreed not to disparage one another.

This is why C.M punk is great. He has always been my favourite wrestler since HBK left WWE after wrestlemania 26. But before Shawn Michaels left I always did like Punk and held the belief he would be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Not only is his in ring work some of the best and finest today, but his mic skills are always top notch. So after seeing Punks promo on monday night, I have to say it was one of the best promos I had ever seen. I really got pissed off over the past 5 months as I felt Punk should have been given his push to the top much earlier, however that unfortunately never happened. However after his matches with cena, mysterio and del rio over the past couple of weeks followed by his announcement he was going to send a strong message to the WWE in a shocking way, I felt like that Punk once again proved himself to everyone as to why he should be the top star in WWE and after the promo he cut on monday night, well, WWE better take note as Punk not only proved just why he was the best but he also told WWE straight. If I was Vince Mcmahon, I would be the biggest fool not to have CM Punk around. CM Punk has proved that he is the best thing going around in the whole of professional wrestling at the moment and will be considered as one of the greats.

You know what is also very funny the people he was talking about still buying WWE program still watching WWE and still will be watching WWE long after he is gone. That is you people that are phrasing him on the internet right now an you don’t even want to see it.

You know what don’t really care what Punk has to say. Because guys like him will be back seen it done many of times. I mean whats he going to do go to a minor league company. Yeah he may show up in New Japan and ROH but sooner or later he will be back in the WWE. Because even Punk knows it were the best goes to wrestle. To the mainstream people Punk was talking about there is one guy that was the best an took WWE by storm. His name was Chris Jericho an he most likely will be back in the WWE very shortly. You say you were the best in the world but you just screwed yourself out of the WWE title shot at Money In the Bank. Now either R-Truth, Rey or Del Rio guys who I feel will do just fine in the WWE long after Punk is gone. If you ask me Del Rio does just as good as Punk maybe even better. I mean Del Rio been in WWE how long an when he becomes WWE champion he going to make a great one. If you ask be Punk just screw himself an you people that are phrasing him on the internet he was also talking about you people that will still be back Monday night watching WWE then come in here bashing it because you have no job.

Come on!!!! This definitely spells the end of the P>G era Vince McMahon even told cena he was “Pissing” him off! if thats not evidence I Don’t know what is! CM Punk is just too good a “Superstar” to get rid off his Mic work is fantastic he’s believable, he’s the best heel they have and hes a good wrestler! All he needs is a decent story line.. maybe this is it!
