Dolph Ziggler Speaks on His 2008 WWE Suspension, WWE Goals and More

Posted by Marc Middleton on Monday, October 12th, 2009

- In an interview with The Herald-Dispatch, Dolph Ziggler finally breaks his silence on his 30-day suspension last year for his first violation of WWE’s drug testing policy.

“That was a worse case scenario,” Ziggler admitted. “Be careful what you get into and who you are associated with. It can easily be taken away. I had month to think it over. I said I won’t make that mistake again.”

Ziggler says getting a championship belt around his waist is one of many goals he has.

“I get a tryout, a contract, a callup, a win,” he said. “The Intercontinental Championship is the goal now. I want to become the best IC champion ever and move on.”

Considering he’s only 29 years old, he feels he has a bright future ahead of him.

“A lot of guys are in their mid-30s,” he said. “I need to get more solid. In the future I look to be one of the leaders in the locker room.”

Oh get real, pal. I don’t hate the guy or anything. But I don’t care how long he ends up staying in the WWE, I don’t ever see him being a locker room leader. And his gimmick is working for him, but I don’t see him being a World champion someday, especially with that name.

Well, I think he’s pretty talented. He needs quite a bit of work, but I think he could be a main eventer someday. I mean c’mon if Jeff Hardy was a freakin’ 3 time world champ, Dolph can make it up to the main event.

@norm…..yeah but remember John Cena didn’t even start getting popular until he donned a Vanilla Ice costume on an episode of smackdown…the rest is history.

Dolph has TONS of talent….I think they did a HUGE mistake by NOT GIVING him the IC title at summerslam in his match against Rey Mysterio. I can definitely see him getting traded to smackdown VERY SOON and take the ECW title away from Christian.
ALso, when Edge returns, expect him and Christian to once again team up and take the tag belts away from Jerishow. THis should take place at Wrestlemania I think.
If anyone wants to know who the next big star will be, his name is T-Bone Jack Sloane. Watch videos of him on U Tube and you will see why. He is currently the cruiserweight champ in the PCW in Western Canada. He wrestled on ECW in a jobber match against Tyler Reks as Tom James, but his big break is coming!!!
