All-Women’s NXT Season Related To WWE’s Unhappiness With Its Divas

The decision to make the third season of NXT an all-women’s show was likely made very recently because last week, WWE filmed twelve wrestlers at Florida Championship Wrestling, eight men and four women. Initial plans called for four men and four women to be featured in the abbreviated season, but it was later changed to six women.

There is hope that the show will garner better ratings with women prominently featured so they can reach a television deal with another network. There is also hope that Aloisia’s “freak of nature” persona will increase ratings so Syfy will change its mind and renew the program.

Another aspect revolves around unhappiness with many of its current female performers, resulting in the company looking for replacement Divas. Talent relations were unhappy with the behavior of several of the women in recent weeks, particularly when much of the roster was situated in Los Angeles for SummerSlam. It is said that Tiffany and the recently released Serena were not the only ones who made embarrassing scenes in public. Officials are very strict regarding the public image of its talent because of promises to corporate sponsors that World Wrestling Entertainment is a wholesome company.

As things stand now, the lame duck show will end its current season on October 1, with a live episode in Oklahoma City as part of a three-hour programming block that will include the network’s debut of Friday Night SmackDown.

Looks like more Diva realeases coming then. WWE really doesn’t know how to handle the women’s division at all.

Why do I get the feeling that the divas they are currently unhappy with are also the likes of: Kelly Kelly, The Bella Tricks, Maryse(maybe), Rosa Mendez(maybe),and Layla.

Now am all for a having a good time and drinking and what not. But, there come a time where one should know his/her limit(if that’s the case). Or maybe there was some cattiness and b.i.t.c.h.i.n.g going on that we don’t know about during the time of Summerslam week. If any they should be unhappy with their in-ring and mic skills(some of them not all). Some also lack stage presences (hmmm….The Bellas)and charmisa (hope i spelled it right). And another thing LET THE REAL WRESTLERS WRESTLE!!!!! You have Natalya, Gail Kim, Jillian Hall, and Tamina who BTH way never seems to wrestle.

    continution…

You have to maintain a certain professionalism when your promoting your product. But at the same time, the WWE brought this on themselves.

1.The firing of Mickie James and making fun of her weight.
(which she was fine as she was)

2.Turning Lita’s personal life into a storyline after she
beg them not to do it and beginng call a H0E in her retirement match. (Which she should have got the same send off as Trish)

3.Victoria, one of the best WC’s and history, have her lose her last match to McDool and she job for the remainder of her stay with WWE.

Jacqueline, Jazz, Chyna, Molly Holly, and even Cherry (just because she didn’t have the typical swinsuit body,REALLY WWE) ,was a victim of unfair treatment of being a actually wrestler. AND NOW THEY ARE UPSET WITH WHAT HAS HAPPEN DURING ON THE ROAD SUMMERSLAM PROMOS……REALLY!!!!
If they were to after any past “TRUE DIVA” a contract, me personally I wouldn’t take it.

They should have cherish and appreciated the talent they had at one time. Now they rushing to fine “replacements”

    KARMA’S A B.I.T.C.H ISN’T WWE

    What goes around comes around….

And with this whole thing of unifying the WOMENS and DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP is straight up tired and weak a$$ hell. THE WWF/E WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP IS A PRESTIGUOUS BELT THAT HAS BEEN HELD BY INCREDIBLE FEMALE WRESTLERS WHO HAVE STUDY MANY THEIR CRAFT FOR MANY YEARS…..

    The “divas” title however…*cough*
IMO is some watered down title that should have been created for some bleach blonde barbie doll. It really looks like a accessory belt instead of a championship title. Don’t get me wrong, girls like Mickie, Melina, Alicia, Eve (somewhat), and McDool have brought the title some respect.
But its NO WHERE NEAR THE RESPECT AND HISTORY THE WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP HAS GOTTEN AND MADE. It should have been a practice belt for newcomers to the main roster who are still a little green in the ring.

WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP = VICTORIA’S SECERT WONDER BRA FOR A WOMEN WHO’S READY FOR ANYTHING….
divas championship = hanes training bra for a preteen girl
    (am just saying)

Get everything off your chest there, lamar? Still, though, several good points made. If wwe would put more emphasis on the women’s division again like they used to, then perhaps the women(calling them divas is so dumb, I think) would start taking their corporate responsibilities a bit more seriously. I would imagine it’s kind of hard to live up to those expectations when a) you’re not even considered an employee but an independent contractor, and b) the only time you’re going to get in front of the cameras is because of certain parts of your body and how well they attract male interest.

I don’t personally know any female wrestlers, but again, I would imagine it to be rather disheartening to have the goal of becoming a professional wrestler, get a contract with wwe, and then find yourself part of the sideshow, dragged out for an airing once in awhile to stir up the male viewers.

I’m not saying that the women wrestlers haven’t done anything wrong, far from it. However, perhaps it’s not all bright lights and trainloads of money and job satisfaction, from where they’re sitting.

so you mean they are having problems with the models they’ve hired who can’t/don’t wrestle using the wwe to travel the world, party and get exposure so they move on to do other things? if your product is wrestling, sell wrestling. that would cure a lot of the problems with the “divas” since since a lot of the party girls probably won’t be around. just another reason why johnny ace should be replaced by someone who will judge talent by more than just a woman’s bra size.

I wonder if they’re unhappy with Maryse. She hasn’t been on tv like she was before.

Hmmmm when were the Divas ever good? Attitude Era Divas were worse than today’s, Ruthless Aggression was alright (probably the best) and now I don’t know.

    Really WWE Divas ALWAYS sucked.

so they are going to replace what some fans view as ugly models who can’t wrestle with what some will argue are uglier models who wrestle even worse. how do we benefit from that?

The divas imo were good in 2002-2007 with jazz trish, lita victoria, molly holly etc now they suck. They have girls models who don’t take anything serious like kelly, layla bellas eve etc so i say canned the divison make them all valets like in 1996-1998 when sable sunny and terri marlena was thers. that would be good kill divison make them backstage interviewers or valets for heel or face wrestlers.
