Actor Says Guest Hosting RAW Was a “Disaster”

Actor Justin Long, star of the new movie “Going the Distance” along with Drew Barrymore, told Metro News that he felt his recent appearance on WWE Monday Night Raw as a special guest host was a “disaster” a few weeks ago.

Long added, “In no way am I being self-deprecating when I say that was a disaster. It was just not the audience to be promoting a movie like that to. We were so out of place. It was just awkward. They’re all fired up to see guys pummeling each other, not to see three nerdy comedy guys do some bits. They played the trailer for this crowd and it just silenced them — and not in a good way.”

Celebrities hosting wrestling specifically WWE RAW is the stupidest ideal ever! its two completely different worlds it makes no sense… now if the host were past WWF stars than it would make perfect sense… Like Rowdy Piper or Austin (Which he Already did) The Rock, Lita etc… Past WWF wrestlers and legends that had a big Impact in the WWF should be the ones hosting not celebrities that no one cares ABOUT!

@kac – I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that caught that, lol.
I do agree that the celebrity guest host thing is kinda stupid and has gone on too long, even though I am looking forward to Knoxville hosting. It only works if you have hosts who can take shots (NOT Bob Barker, Mini-Me, etc.) and/or past Superstars/Divas. Then it MIGHT be worth watching.

When the guest host of Raw began last year it was actually pretty cool as there wasn’t a GM so the guest host would assume all the responsibilities for that night. Now it’s become a promotional thing where we see actors, authors, and other celebrities basically there just to sell their new movie, album or book coming out in a few weeks time. They do nothing good and the backstage skits with them are awful…

Shaq was awesome..and should guest host again. He actually enjoyed himself….was natural on the mic…and could get a little physical..the stuff with jericho was priceless…CHRISTINA!!!!

screw all of you. Big Daddy V was the best, most talented wrestler in WWE before he left to make his movie. If he returns he will win the WWE championship.

- I don’t think the guest hosting thing is that bad. I just think the “guest hosts” should be former wrestlers or people dealing with wrestling. Just my opinion.

First of all, these hosts shouldn’t be hosts to promote things, ie their movies. Especially a dumb chick flick like Going the Distance. Justin should have just been himself and if he wasn’t a fan of the WWE to begin with then he had no right to be a host.
