Date: Mar 04, 2010 at 12:47 PMWhile it will be great to have Rob back, he’s not going to cause many WWE fans to switch channels nor is going to help bring back any wrestling fans who have moved it. Facts are facts. The vast majority of WWE fans today aren’t even that familiar with some of the older legends, let alone a guy like RVD. Many of the old wrestling fans (back when it was WWF, WCW and ECW), have moved on since Vince’s monopoly and haven’t looked back. The fans who can appreciate a guy like RVD are already watching either just TNA or both WWE and TNA, so in theory, the ratings won’t change much if at all. Then again, only time will tell.

Date: Mar 04, 2010 at 4:45 PMRob Van Dam is the last big name that isn’t affiliated with either show, and is still interested in being an active performer, and signing him would be good for TNA, and in theory for RVD as well as it took him forever to become a World Title contender and when he finally won it they dropped the ball huge on that. I just hope TNA uses him right and he can become a top guy there, but TNA has a tendency to either go too fast or too slow, I hope they do this one right. Jeff Hardy and RVD are their two best chances to get people’s attention, as they both have name value and can still go in the ring, unlike a lot of recent signings.

Date: Mar 04, 2010 at 5:42 PMRVD vs Jeff Hardy feud! If you haven’t seen their match from Invasion 2001, it was unreal. Too bad they didn’t make a bigger feud out of it.

While I’m not saying that Rob will cause TNA to pull a huge upset that night, you can’t argue with the fact the Rob’s “surprise” appearances in WWE since he left has garnered huge audience reactions.
