TNA Impact Rating Spikes For “Night Of Reveals”, No Plans For Isis the Amazon

Posted by Daniel Pena on Friday, May 13th, 2011

– The May 12 episode of TNA iMPACT! scored a 1.27 cable rating, up from the previous week’s 1.15 number.

iMPACT! averaged 1.8 million viewers overall, up from 1.6 million the week before. It was also the program’s most watched show since March 17.

– The role of Kurt Angle’s on-air “mistress” went to former WWE Diva Chyna instead of independent wrestler Isis the Amazon due to concern over her wrestling ability and behind-the-scenes reputation.

With the role calling for a wrestling match this Sunday at Sacrifice, TNA Wrestling officials opted for “The Ninth Wonder of The World” over the 6’9″ grappler.

“Isis is way too green still,” said one company source. She worked a dark match prior to the February 15 iMPACT! taping and drew poor reviews for her wrestling ability.

Isis still also has a reputation for having a poor attitude. She garnered major heat amongst the locker room due how she carried herself at the February event.

“I’ve never seen a guy or a girl rub the locker room this much the wrong way,” said a TNA employee following her tryout.

Company officials no longer have plans for Isis the Amazon.

You guys realize that Impact Wrestling is just the name of the show, right? It’s no different than how WWE has RAW and SmackDown.

Well with Isis no longer being used. Maybe Serena could get called up and be a heel knockout and side with Madison Rayne since Tara is more then likely a face now. Hopefully that’s the plan… If TNA is smart?

When TNA gets a rating 2.0 or above, then they will actually have a reason to celebrate. But until then, a small rating spike is nothing to get excited about.

What makes me laugh is that Isis had always been known to be untalented and a danger to anyone she works with, yet WWE decided to overlook this when they were planning to use her on NXT. Despite the stories of nude pictures surfacing, you can almost guarantee that she was pulled moreso because of her lack of talent (its not the first time someone has been brought onto WWE then Vince pulls them when he realises how green they are, and not ready for tv).
You would think from the fact that her rep procedes her, and that there was a good chance that WWE booted her for her lack of talent, that TNA would realise this as well.
WWE and TNA both piss me off with shit like this, and are no better than eachother.
You can try to preach that TNA has more talented wrestlers on its books (which is bullshit as WWE has just as many if not more, they just dont use them) and that their womens division is better (more bullshit), but both companies still love to go with these big wrestlers, regardless of their talent.

Impact Wrestling plans to begin airing crytic videos of a gigantic woman holding a doll, then breaking off various body parts of the doll and laughing maniacally. Eventually, she will debut under the name Fhate and interrupt Knockouts matches by, initially, attacking the heels with her finishing move and eventually also attacking faces. She will get attacked, but won’t be phased. At some point, Mike Tenay will interrupt a Knockout and Fhate will come down and give him a staredown before he heads back to the Tenay Tent.

Eric, that’s not true exactly. For the time being, they’re just calling the Thursday night now “Impact Wrestling”, but they plan on phasing out the TNA over the next few months. Hogan wants a 3-letter acronym name (which is traditional in wrestling), while Jarrett likes Impact Wrestling. Dixie considered going with Impact Wrestling Company (IWC), but obviously that’s crazy. Many backstage, Matt Hardy especially, loved the idea since they believe TNA caters to the IWC. lol Hogan wants something like ICW (which makes MUCH more sense, Impact Championship Wrestling), or even IWF (Impact Wrestling Federation)… see what he’s doing there?

As of right now, they’re in limbo on what their final plans will be (come on…. this is STILL TNA, so does this shock anyone that they’ve started something without a clear future plan? lol). Anyway, right now you’ll rarely hear the name TNA, but it’ll be visible until they’re official something else. I think it’s just hinging on what everyone agrees to at this point.
