The Pope’s Coincidential Tweet, “Beautiful People” Reunion Scores Big For TNA

– TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter announced this afternoon on Twitter the signing of a performer to a new talent contract. Shortly thereafter, “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero commented the following on the social networking site: “Just heard the news. Now THAT….That’s Cool!”

Many of his followers believed he was alluding to Carlito, as that was the Puerto Rican star’s catchphrase during his time in WWE. D’Angelo noted in a follow-up message that his earlier tweet was purely coincidental and that he has no idea as to who was signed.

“Whoa! Just got the “News” of Pope’s earlier news. That was purely coincidental. For The Record, Pope has NO CLUE as to who was signed,” he added.

– The reunion of “The Beautiful People” on Thursday’s iMPACT! scored the program’s highest rated segment with a 1.15. The next highest quarter-hour was the main event featuring Kurt Angle, Mr. Anderson, D’Angelo Dinero and Jeff Hardy against members of Fortune. It drew a 1.11.

Overall, the show earned a 1.07 rating, up from the previous week’s 0.97.

The crappy women’s division got the highest rating? That has to make TNA feel really great. Maybe in a couple weeks Giant Motorcycle Helmet Head Girl will be in the main event. Maybe TNA will just put a video of Velvet Sky’s butt in the lower corner of the screen from now on.

i think most of the TNA fans are horny. Thats what i think and the ratings show just that. Cuz ain’t no wrestlin in the knockouts division anymore. just booty shakin while they enter the ring.

maybe they were busy, but I think the k.o. champs should of had some spotlight considering they won the belts. And about the B.P., absolutely no complaints here.They can suck, its all right.

Why do TNA fans, when TNA is criticized, immediately dog out WWE? I realize it works both ways, but that always seems to be TNA fans’ first line of defense when their product is insulted.
Why can’t TNA be criticized solely on its own merits (or lack thereof) instead of being compared to WWE?

Sounds to me like Pope spoke out of turn and has been told to retract his statement.
If it does turn out to be Carlito, then it will show that he has been slapped down for spoiling things, as we know that only Dixie is allowed to do that.

lmao the arugement isn’t which “divas” are better the arguement was that its kind of sad and pathetic that tna fans only watch the women, says alot about their knowledge i’d be ashamed if wwe had to rely on their divas to pull ratings, haha they would give divas more air time then x divison give that some thought

damn i hope that TNA takes notice of this we want to see TBP on tv give them a good segment and a god match and we will be content now if they were to grow a pair a do the same thing hold a tournement with REAL x division stars not brian kendrick or shannon more or doug williams who are ruining the division hes held the title since may and has barley defended it and it would bring in some ratings but i PRAY TO GOD that they didnt sign carlito what could he possibly bring to your roster what would be his coming in storyline think about it almost everyone they have brought in this year
orlando jordan: a 1 month fued for the global championship never got over
brian kendrick: had a match for the x division championship and then was filler had a short fued with doug williams
anderson: went from heel to face to tweener WTF
RVD: came in won the title two months later because the ratings were low for a few weeks and hasnt had a real fued except for the one with Abyss
jeff hardy: came in tagged with rvd for a bit had a short fued with anderson then formed a tag with him
shannon moore : got a title shot for no reason and a Kaz lost his because of it (head scratcher)and was put in a tag team which was probably the best thing for him
carlito: wont be able to use his real name and isnt popular enought to be a top star could be a tv champ(maybe) no one would tag with him and is to big slow and isnt a highflyer so cant be a x division star but they would probably do it if they gave it to williams

also why hasent hamada and taylor wild been on tv since wining the title they just need to end that division they should be going after the KO title i myself dont want to see angelina vs madison for the 3 time this season i wonder what they were thinking about when they came up with that title but now that i think about it they had alot more KOs back then damn this time last year they had awsome kong, Alissa Flash Roxxi came back Christy Hemme was still wrestling ODB was still there Daffney was on TV Traci Brooks was there damn that division has gone down the tubes

Honestly there is no argument that the TNA KO division is better than WWE divas. The KO division isnt as good as it once was, but its a damn sight lot better than the divas.
