Nash Sides with Hall & Waltman, Karen Angle Backstage, More

Posted by Marc Middleton on Sunday, March 21st, 2010

- Karen Angle was backstage at tonight’s Destination X pay-per-view with her kids. They later sat ringside in the second row for some of the matches.

- Brian Hebner, the son of TNA referee Earl Hebner, worked tonight’s pay-per-view as a referee. Brian has previously worked for WWE as a referee on the SmackDown brand.

- Scott Hall and Sean Waltman are now members of the TNA roster after Kevin Nash turned on Eric Young at Destination X to help Hall and Waltman win the tag match. Nash, Hall and Waltman debuted a new theme song that started off with the wolf howl from their Wolfpac theme song in WCW.

Eric Young busted his butt for this company since as far back as I can remember, he has been with the company for years and had gained a huge cult like following a couple of years ago. Why did TNA ever capitalize on this? I don’t see it, or what about the whole World Elite heel turn, that would have a perfect time to establish him as a fresh and new main event heel.

This was Hogan and Eric’s chance to show that this wasn’t going to be WCW v.2 by not giving Hall/Waltman a contract, but instead, they bring in these washed up wrestlers instead of giving more TV time to a competitive tag and X-Division field, making them a different brand than WWE, who only pushes their heavyweights. Way to drop the ball TNA…
