Locker Room Reaction To Rob Van Dam Joining TNA Not Entirely Positive

After months of intense negotiations, Rob Van Dam finally agreed to terms with TNA last week. Hulk Hogan of all people spoiled the surprise by noting last Thursday during a radio interview that a major star had signed on with the organization and then doing RVD’s trademark pointing routine, apparently forgetting he was being filmed.

Though terms of Van Dam’s contract have not been disclosed, he has made it clear he’s not interested in working a full-time schedule. There is said to much grumbling among longtime wrestlers as they perceive established stars such as Van Dam being paid big bucks without working house show dates. Furthermore, more than one wrestler noted that RVD took an unnecessary shot during a recent interview when he said he couldn’t understand why people want to see him go from beating superstars such as Steve Austin and The Rock in WWE to wrestling the likes of Christopher Daniels in TNA.

“When people say I’m a legend, I’m comfortable with that. If I’m a legend to you, I get that. You’ve seen me beat the best, you’ve seen me hang in there with the best. Now if I go hang in there with these young guys that really aren’t eve proven, I’m not sure you’re going to get that same perspective and the same satisfaction out of RVD that you thought you would,” Van Dam said during an appearance on the Busted Open radio show in January.

“You’ve seen Rob Van Dam beat Big Show, The Rock, Steve Austin, and now you want to see me go over Christopher Daniels and that’s really what you want to see? That’s confusing to me.”

And yet, look where he signed. I mean, I agree with him 100%, but we all know he’s not in it for the love of the business. He and Hardy are good examples of guys looking to make some money, do no real work and act like teenagers. More power to them, I guess, but it’s a real black eye on the wrestling industry.

I’m old school ECW & I’d be much happier having Van Dam here than that washed up ego maniac Hogan & his ass kissing onterage like pricks Bubba the love sponge or has bveens the nasty boys.

Him & Hardy are good examples of people who just want to enjoy life, rather than live for a paycheck, if you ask me. Neither one of them needs the money they get from TNA, hence why they can just take time off anytime… They live for more than just one thing… and i can respect that.

Allen, he’s the same guy who caused the webmasters here to go berzerk. Yet, somehow, he can still post. Go figure, I thought they had a better system set up now.

RVD better get some perspective. He was lucky enough to have three major organizations when he was coming up… ECW, WCW, and WWE … that is why he had the chance to promote himself very well against established legends like Austin and Booker T for example.

Now, he can say that Christopher Daniels is someone who never proved himself when in comparison with a Hogan. Is he referring to the exposure that a WWE or WCW gave others? It just so happens that Daniels didn’t have too many options for organizations to go to like RVD had.

And I can say the same about Ted Dibiase Jr. He might be hot stuff in WWE but really he hasn’t been a big somebody outside of WWE. That’s not a dig on Ted, he’s great but he also didn’t have the options that RVD had.

Now with TNA young stars can shine outside of WWE. I’ll give you an example of someone who proved versatility outside of WWE… Chistian Cage … say what you will but his tenure in TNA proved to the fans and himself that he can be a star anywhere he wants.

My point is, RVD should think about the things he says. Put things in perspective. It’s not as black and white as he paints it.

do no real work hardy and rvd bust there ass’s and put there life on the line over and over again with the stuff they do for the fans so to say they want to do no real work and act like teenagers is just wrong imo

Okay really typical Dirt Sheet B.S. I find it so amazing how TNA wrestlers actually report their personal life to these idiotic reporters. Really I could be a dirt sheet writer. All you gotta do i s look at what’s going on and make up some crap.

BREAKING NEWS: Kofi Kingston is upset as he has no match on the card for Wrestlemania….see it’s that easy!

boondox i agree, tna should stop getting the new guys in like morley and use the guys they’ve got before spending so much cash. How epic would it be to see amazing red in a storyline? him and daniels could tear the house down every week and yet theyre employing fags like orlando jordan

the direction tna is taking right now is horrible i mean you give abyss a massiave push that he doesnt really need and teams like the mcmg’s still havent gotten any form of a push and then you have RVD come in what does he do right away wins in about 30 seconds hten gets his ass kicked by sting and jeff hardy is just there for the pay day because he prolly does need the money after he got arested both of them wont be in tna for long evenutally jeff will quit then go back to wwe get another world title match win it then quit again jump back to tna and keep going back and forth and i also think tna is going to get killed in the new monday night wars because they are not live so the fact is if wwe did start to feal a lil pressure they can just read the spoilers like wcw did to wwe and if they maybe put it on like wcw did were it started at wwe’s second hour not directly head to head

He does the same moves over and over, and he calls daniels a nobody? daniels would whoop his ass no porblem. Dont call the king of indies a piece of shit or youll be hated around the entire world. van dams selfish, he does the same shit, hes been a BABYSHITFACE 24/7, who cares if u give him a good use or push he’ll just do the same thing over and over. 5 stars RVD? i dont think so you blow and the ppl that have seen you for a really long time and know how bad ur inring skills are tired of it.
