Latest on Team 3D’s Status with TNA, WWE Return Pitched

Posted by Marc Middleton on Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

- Team 3D did not appear at this week’s TNA iMPACT tapings because their contracts expired. The tag team isn’t booked for No Surrender but is still penciled in for a match at Bound For Glory. People in TNA expect 3D to re-sign with the company.

Regarding a WWE return, there have been people pitching for The Dudleys to return, which would lead to a DVD release. So far, 3D returning to WWE is just an idea that has been pitched and nothing anyone with power has made a call on.

They don’t have to sign with either, they could easily go to Japan, I mean they’re one of the most decorated Tag Teams ever, there isn’t much left. Unless they work at there school more, in prepping students for the big time.

dudleys should stay in tna the tag team division in wwe is nothing to brag about now and it would be pathetic for them to come back and end in that kind of caliber stay in tna

Maybe bringing back the Dudley’s would help bring interest back to the WWE tag devision (wishful thinking I know).

@xThexRZAx187 But yet look who’s division has more TAG TEAMS, WWE is no longer a tag team thing, it’s more into singles stuff, which is why their division is pretty Shitty.

Yes TNA’s is No better, but at least they have Tag Teams.

@all of u having 4 teams aint shit gen me? (wtf are they? never used on tv). wolfe & magnus? (a thrown together team), inc ink (jobbers, another thrown together team). really only mcmg & b.money are worth a damn. just like wwe only 2 teams any other team jobs, is not on main programming, or is thrown together

The only way WWE brings back the Dudley Boyz would be for an extremely short program with someone (probably similiar to what TNA did with the Nasty Boys), possibly the Hart Dynasty or even the Dudebusters. Obviously, it would be to put over the younger tag team, so the Dudleys would have to be ready to basically be jobbers.

@kelly if u agree that tna is no better than alot of u need to act like it then, instead of attacking wwe every 2 seconds like tna is the best when its not. they both have faults

If 3D does go back to wwe watch them end up like Gail Kim and Christian doing NOTHING WTF think about it they are both enhancement talent and tna doesn’t have that many tag teams most tag teams are thrown together BMI and MCMG were in singles b4 they were a team but Wolfe And magnus do have charisma together let them be together for the rest of the year by then they will be pretty good together I say they don’t go back to WWE becaus they will become a JOKE they will be putting over santino and koslov in. No time

ok lets be honest, WWE doesnt give a fuck about tag team wrestling, to them a tag team, or stable for that matter, is a way to take a some lower mid card wrestlers and push them up the card eventually breaking the team (Hardyz, Edge and Christian, The Rockers, Legacy, Evolution, D’Lo and Mark Henry, the list goes on and on). Of course in the case of a stable theres usually an established star to help put the other 2 over but the premise is the same. TNA uses their tag team division to actually have good tag matches, not throw together 2 people that have no chemistry for the sake of cramming more big names into the main event for the evening. i like both companies equally, fact is WWE has more focus on big men and individual titles, TNA tries to focus on all areas equally, tho short sighted in some aspects, especially with the lack of KOs, not really worth 15 mins of air time until they add some more depth. at any rate, if Team 3D want to be relevant when they decide to retire from wrestling they should stay in TNA or go to Japan, WWE has no one for them to compete with, The Hart Dynasy, Usos, and Santino/Kozlov are they have to offer right now, and that would be a joke if they put any of them in the ring with Team 3D, it would be a disgrace for them to lose to any of those 3 teams. why do you guys think WWE got rid of tag titles for each brand? not enough teams cuz Vince hates tag wrestling, except when he gets to throw Cena, Orton, Jericho, Sheamus and/or Edge in a main event where they “coexist” until the very end where we all get “surprised” when everyone turns on each other just so Vince can try to add a few more dollars in his pocket for having all of his big name stars on the card. TNA is also guilty of throwing all of their big names into the show in a poor way, mostly just having Jarrett or Hogan show up to get beat down, Sting or Nash doing beatdown, and Flair flashing everyone in Orlando his ass in a match against Jay Lethal of all people. ok, think i covered all my bases in this long winded response, looking forward to being flamed by everyone

@this dude above me ^…first off i know wwe’s tag team division and stable’s aren’t great but lets think about it and lets do a comparions..mcmg,generation me,beer money, team 3d,ink inc,ev 2.0,sting & nash, and fortune vs the hart dynasty, edge & jericho, the dude busters, curt hawkins & vance archer, the usos, santino marrella & vladimir koslov, and the nexus…u do the comparison…vince dosen’t hate tag team wrestling its just that all the tag teams in wwe have left…shawn michaels left and retired so there’s no dx..big show was drafted to smackdown so there’s no big show & jericho or big show & the miz, shad gaspard is apparently back in ovw so there’s no cryme tyme..so what else is there…randy orton and edge are fighting so no rated rko..tna is not guilty of anything except ONE THING THAT I HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT…they spend so much time pushing this feud between ev 2.0 and fortune that the rest of there roster is overshadowed..like hernandez, eric young, orlando jordan, suicide, amazing red, brian kendrick, and sharkboy…tna does to there wrestlers exactly what wwe does to there wrestlers and you know what i’m talking about…wwe superstar=tna explosion..guys who don’t get a push are on explosion..i don’t agree with tna not having an x division and i don’t agree with this whole wolfpac storyline..nuf said

Dudleys should not return to the WWE it would be a bad ideal because the Dudleys are a hardcore tag team their known for being rowdy and unpredictable and when was the last time you seen WWE do anything hardcore? will this mean we would have to wait to see the TLC ppv every single year now to see the Dudleys bring out tables? Dudleys and the P.G. shit era thanks to Linda McBitch wont be any good at all! besides what tag team would be good enough to even match up with them? and the WWE would just end up splitting them up anyway like they did with every other great tag team that came along including stables

ok, now im gonna be brutally honest, what are the reasons that tag teams are no longer relevant to wrestling today?

    1. promoters push singles titles more/give more money to singles champions, so there is no desire to stay in a tag team long term, Team 3D being the exception

    2. tag matches are poorly booked, usually 2 guys with no chemistry thrown together against someone that does have chemistry

    3. tag matches are never booked high on a card for a ppv, or are sandwiched between 2 amazing singles matches

    4. tag championships arent held in the same regard as singles championships like they were intended to be

    5. egos, anyone who has been a singles wrestler that dropped down the card and is thrown into a tag team for any more than a few matches gets a chip on their shoulder because theyve had singles success and either got injured, wound up in the dog house, or just flat out lost a step

    6. tag matches have become gimmick matches. no title involved? lets put some main eventers in a team against another team of main eventers, have the teammates turn on each other, and make every individual hit his finisher.

heres the draw to tag wrestling, more innovative offense. look at the best of 5 series between MCMG and BMI, catapult/ddt, sliced bread/powerbomb, powerbomb/neckbreaker, jacknife facelock/low front dropkick, stereo kick combos, top rope cross body/neckbreaker. in Japan, i forget who it is, but a tag finisher is 2 guys standing on the turnbuckle side by side, holding each other at the waist, then simultaniously performing a 450. what WWE or TNA bred tag team in the past decade has had a jaw dropping finisher? not many, most have perfected their art in other promotions, or they use singles finisher combinations like SCM/pedigree, crippler crossface/walls of jericho, or twist of fate/swanton.

i dont like that fact that they are putting so much time into fortune but in a way to have a really good stable you have to put time into it
