The Nasty Boys & Hogan Mock Young TNA Star

Posted by Daniel Pena on Monday, February 8th, 2010

There was some eye rolling in the TNA locker room when Hulk Hogan and The Nasty Boys had a laugh at the expense of X Division star Jay Lethal.

Jerry Sags openly questioned how long TNA will keep him employed and laughed at the audacity of his “Black Machismo” character.

Apparently in a tongue in cheek tone, Hogan later cracked during an appearance on The Bubba The Love Sponge Show that TNA should bring in Randy Savage to manage Lethal.

TNA *REJECTS* signing two former WWE stars – find out who ->

WELL I’M LAUGHING AT HOW LONG THE NASTY BOYS WILL STAY EMPLOYED. KNOBBS IS A FAT DECREPID PIECE OF SHIT N SAGGS IS BORDERLINE AUTISTIC, THE ONLY BUSINESS THEY GOT WITH TNA IS JOBBING TO THE DUDLEYS, NO TALENT-ANNOYING POT OF PISS NEVERHAS NEVERWERE BEENS PIECES OF SHIT, THE ONLY COOL THING THEY DID WAS GET THERE ARSES LEGITIMATELY KICKED BY KEN SHAMROCK IN A MOTEL INCIDENT. FUCK YOU.

I think I’m starting to agree that Hogan is ruining Tna. Their making fun of Jay Lethal, who is a good wrestler, well the Nasty boys suck. Daniels hasnt won a match so far this year. Bischoff takes a shot at Eric Young on air “Another name I’m not going to remember tomorrow.” The sad thing was I was excited about Hogan and Bischoff coming in now its getting pathetic. I’m going to watch it for a few more weeks and hopefully they make some changes and they bring in someone who can actually recognize talent like Daniels, Young, Lethal, MCMG, Beer Money, etc and they can start promoting the younger wrestlers. Hopefully Dixie Carter steps up and defends the good young wrestlers on TNA. I wanted them to bring back wrestlers like Petey Williams but if they did they would probably ruin is character too. TNA also lets steiner go, someone who actually helped put over younger talent in TNA. They should have made Sting, Angle, Brett Hart or even Nash a part owner instead of Hogan.

Yeah really, The Nasty Boys only have a job because their noses are up Hogan’s a**hole. Hell, I’m worried that Knobbs is going to have a heart attack every time he gets in the ring. He looks like a damn manatee. And Sags can’t exactly tear up the ring either. Lethal has way more talent than both of them combined.

Hogan does do some good, such as bringing big names with him like Ken Anderson. However I’m worried that he might hurt TNA more than help it. I do prefer the 4 sided ring, and the move to Mondays will make wrestling really exciting again, so in that way, he’s been good.

I for one would love to see Randy Savage end the “Black Machismo” character and let Jay Lethal live up to his full potential.

As for the Nasty Boys, hopefully they will find their level as jobbers for the guys with talent

I am a TNA defender especially on some other sites but Yeah I must say they’ve got to watch that crap. Locker room moral will go down real fast. I enjoyed the Nasty Boys back in the day but let’s be honest for Knobbs it’s been nearly a decade since his last major run with WCW as a singles wrestler and Saggs other then the short lived XWF and the occasional indie appearance which was never regular hasn’t had a major run in over 14 years.

So crapping on talent that have busted there ass to get TNA to this point is a really bad idea. Those guys should be encouraging and give talent like Lethal a pat on the back. Now I will say it’s time to drop the Black Machismo gimmick. Lethal played it up as well as anyone could ask much like Paul Burchill and the Pirate gimmick but it’s stale now. The key to TNA continuing to rise is there X Division and the Knockouts who have often been the highlight lately.

I don’t mind the gimmick, it’s somewhat entertaining to me anyway. Lethal is a good wrestler too, the gimmick gives him more personality to go with that IMO. I’m not a fan of a lot of TNA gimmicks (Abyss, Shark boy) but I like Lethel’s.

I KINDA AGREE WITH BRINGING IN ANDERSON, I DONT REALLY LIKE THE WHOLE SINGING VETERANS AND PEOPLE THAT WWE HAS JUST RELEASED BECAUSE EVEN IF THEY DO GOOD IN TNA, WWE JUST SIGNS THEM BACK AND THEY ALWAYS TACK IT…BUT ANDERSON IS OKAY BECAUSE THEY NEVER REEALLY DID ANYTHING OVER IN WWE AND HE DOES SELL SOME GOOD PROMOS.

Yeah I think Hogan is kind of a douche and the Nastys need to disappear again. Ridiculous. Jay Lethal is a 10 times better wrestler than BRIAN KNOBS OR JERRY SAGS could ever IMAAAAAAAAGINE being. He has more persona, more wrestling talent and skill. He’s a better WRESTLER than Hogan too so Hogan should shut his old slow ass the fuck up.

If Kurt Angle sees value in Lethal, and he’s actually done something positive for TNA, that should speak much louder than the three has-been’s opinion.

TNA is a laughing stock, Hogan cuts the same promo every week. (let me tell ya somethin brother) Come on its tired!! Hogan, Nasties could never really wrestle and never put anyone over. I heard Florida is gods waiting room, and there will be a whole lot of dead wrestlers (has beens) to bury when TNA goes under.

Thanks for the update Dillberg…I was thinking that was a very douche bag thing for Hogan to say about one of TNA’s most talented young wrestlers. I agree his gimmick is a rip off of Savage, but the guy does it in homage to Savage’s legend. He pays tribute to Savage and he does it very well. Plus he is an excellent, quick, innovative wrestler and that is exactly what TNA needs because if you’ve watched WWE lately…you know it’s not about really good wrestling over there….
I’m glad Hogan was not talking trash about Jay Lethal, but there’s still no good reason for the Nastys being seen ANYWHERE on television. The Nastys really weren’t even has-beens….how can they be has-beens when they really…NEVER WERE. The Mouth of the South was the reason you watched the Nasty Boys. Hell I liked Earthquake and TYPHOON better than I liked the Nasty Boys…at least they had their extreme obesity going for them.

Man has wrestling changed. I’ve watched wrestlin since bein in my moms stomach and loved Hulk all my life and supported him til now. I like some of his moves but laughin at good talent, is makin me think otherwise. If Hogan is smart he would stay off tv, let people like lethal, AJ, Samoa Joe, and Daniels be themselves and just wrestle, the show would get over. Thats wut bills ratings. its wut got ECW over. Be different, give people something that they can remember. Sad day in wrestling

TNA sealed it’s fate as bad pro wrestling company when they signed Vince Russo to being a booker in late 2006. For the last three years TNA has pushed ex-wwe guys and Sting over every young guy including AJ Styles and Samoa Joe and made them look like jobbers at least 90% of the time. And to anyone who thinks that AJ Styles wasn’t de-pushed look what happened when Russo became head writer in late 06: AJ became a pussy heel who sucks up to a Christen and Kurt Angle and when they finally make AJ World Champion and the “new” face of TNA after four mouths they turn him into a Ric Flair clone. Ric Flair said in WWE’s “The Monday Night Wars” dvd that Vince Russo was “a clown of a writer.” I’ll bet he still believes that, I know Jim Cornette does.

Don’t you guys get it? You are all falling for the plot of the storyline that has been in action since Hogan first “bought” his role in TNA. Enter Sting for the sake of being the defender of the old TNA and to unleash hell on Hogans new TNA/WCW era. We just need to know when Sting is going to make his debute as the almighty “crow looking” defender once more by flying in from the rafters.

Hogan! In the day, was ok. Now, not so much. I think he can be positive for TNA. He needs to do what he does best now, and that’s promote TNA, not be in the ring on TNA. Let the young guys who have not been there done that, do what they need to do, find their own way. Help push them. TNA is going down from when i first watched it. Makes me so sad. They have such a good platform, they just need to put people where they are good. Black Machismo all the way!

As much as the machismo gimmick is old and ridiculous it is not as ridiculous as E.B and Hogan turning TNA into a poor copy of WCW. Dixie has made a big time Boo Boo giving Hogan final say on everything creative.losing the six sided ring was probably the only good thing they are likely to do. As for the Nasty boys it’s been that long since I heard his name I thought saggs was dead.

Explain to me how it’s a poor copy of WCW. I don’t see it. WCW was Goldberg, NWO(Macho Man, Hogan, Nash, Virgil and others), Harlam Heat, the Cruiserweight division (with Jericho, Eddie Guerrero and others), Glacier, Chavo Guerrero running around with a broom, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, The Four Horsemen, The Giant(The BigShow now), and other stuff.

TNA is certainly different. For one they have a very strong women wrestling division in the form of the Knockout Division with good women wrestlers like Awesome Kong, The Beautiful People, Tara, ODB, Taylor Wilde. Plus the Heavyweight Champion is AJ STYLES(pure TNA product) teaming up with the legendary Rick Flair (something interesting to watch actually) and he’s feuding with Samoa Joe (another TNA product) , and plenty of young guns are being pushed by Hogan… Jordan, The Pope, Amazing Red, The British Invasion, Desmond Wolfe, and many many other yound stars .

It’s all good so far. Other mainstays like Kurt Angle, Mick Foley, Abyss, Erick YOung, they’re there in the spotlight and Mr. Anderson a newcomer… he’s being pushed nicely… nothing on your face with him, he’s been feuding with the likes of Jeff Jarrett and Kurt Angle…

so I just don’t see the WCW comparison.

The comparison with WCW to me the 1st big angle since Hogan came in the return of “the band” or at least playing on the past history of WCW. yeah TNA have the knockout division but that was pre Hogan one of the 1st people they bring back Ric Flair another big WCW personality from the day mr Anderson and Brian Kendrick are good signings so i’ll give them props for that but all I’m saying is the NWO Gimmick which was originally Hall, Hogan, Nash soon after joining was syxx or Six pac the Nwo is dead that was proved with wwe ill concieved revival of the NWO, as for the other mainstays yeah they are getting pushed to some degree but much like WCW there is so much more they could do and people like Wolfe are just being wasted bring Wolfe in to deck Angle now he’s losing more than he is winning much like what happened to lot of the better talent from the WCW days eg Jericho, Eddy Guerrero to name a few. Even though some stories are new the bases for those stories were all pretty much pre hogan. That was what I based my comparison on in my opinion. As for Mr Anderson he is one exception he is getting pushed well but thats more because people know he is from WWE as much as how Talented he is.

Just seen last Impact and AAO PPV and think i may be bein a bit hard on TNA. It good to see the pope getting the push he should of got in WWE. TNA are getting a lot right but I Still think they making a mistake with Hogan and Bischoff and bringing in the NWO and the Nasty Boys. And a lot of Talent is being wasted they only recently really started using amazing red how he should be Will be interested to see how the monday night wars pan out.
