Dixie Carter Comments on the iMPACT Rating

Posted by Marc Middleton on Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

- TNA President Dixie Carter made a post on Twitter Tuesday afternoon regarding iMPACT’s rating from last night.

“Although its classic David v Goliath, 1 stone will not bring down our giant, its a different day. It’ll take time & commitment, we have both,” she wrote.

It should be noted that Carter’s statement was issued at about 1PM EST Tuesday, so it is unclear how much ratings information she had at the time of the statement.

    You cant compare TNA to WCW. Sure Hogan is making it just like WCW with the superstars he’s bringing in, But TNA is not at that point yet.

    Dixie knew what the ratings were…shes stressing shes trying to make the ratings not a big deal its only a matter of time for TNA now WWE 3.5 vs TNA 0.88? Come on now people TNA singed their death release when they moved to Monday nights thinking they could take on WWE.

    TNA are nowhere near a stage where they can compete with the WWE, moving to monday nights only made things worse.

    IMO they shouldn’t have even thought of moving to monday nights until their Thursday night ratings were much higher.

    It’s like David vs Goliath, except this time David thought ‘to hell with getting a slingshot’.

    Well Dixie it looks like you put your foot in your mouth, that 1 stone you mentioned destroyed you in ratings and the man did not even drop a stunner sorry to say you had a more entertaining show but you have no chance to compete with WCW 2.0 against WWE I mean you cant even compete with NXT in ratings. And personally I was on TNA’s side until her jab at Austin.

    TNA has to get real. They are not going to bring down their giant. WWE is just not going to go away like WCW did. TNA needs to stop bragging on how they will beat Monday Night RAW in the rating. If you can’t deliver, than bragging makes you look like a fool and takes away all credibility. Just focus on growth and quality for now. Forget about WWE. Muhammad Ali was able to boast and brag when he was a boxer, but he was able to back his words up with results. Everyone loves an underdog, but do not try to rush yourselves, everything takes time. Stop trying to copy the wiining results like WCW did, your not WCW. So just be yourselves.

    I am glad that TNA did get rid of the Main Event Mafia storyline. I think they were watching too many Soprano episode or too many Godfather movies!

    I think the reason Hogan and Eric are boasting about beating WWE in the rating wars, is that they do not like Vince.

    Hulk Hoagn, RVD, Jeff Hardy, Sting, Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, Dudley Boys, ..TNA has lot of BIG names but the ratings are really bad.
    Even Bryan Danielson does better

    A lot of BIG names that are past their prime, unfortunately.
    One of TNA’s biggest problems has been coming up with new main eventers. They’re all either established names already or TNA originals.

    They want to be the next big thing, bringing something new to the table yet I’m just seeing a stale mix of bad WCW, old WWE and randomness.

    They’re trying way too hard to be WCW 2.0, as has been said. They aren’t focusing on anything else and the show and ratings are going to suffer because of it.

    With Hogan,the Nasty Boys,Jimmy Hart,Scott Hall and Sean Waltman, TNA has turned into The Over The Hill Gang Wrestles Again. Get rid of Hogan and Eric and their buddies and go back to the way it was before. Now that was wrestling!

    Even when WCW beat WWE in the Monday Night Wars, they were not able to put the giant out of business. It was WCW that went out of business and WWE bought it. TNA may in the future win the rating war, but it will never put WWE out of business.

    McMahon is not stupid, you do not make a company worldwide, on the stock exchange and make millions or billions in revenue, by being stupid. McMahon has been in the business long enough not to jeopardize his company.

    I like the WWE don’t get me wrong! There are only two things that are screwing it up well three. #1. No more bleeding. I mean in some intsances thats ruins a match. #2.Hornswoggle and his segments! I need not explain this. #3.And now no chairshots!! This will only lead to more things being banned. Add that to super Cena and the product is getting lame!! Like when Doink and Men on a Mission were around, and Repo Man, crap like that!! I am begging for John Cena to turn heel one of these days and make the Children Cry!!

    @Anthony

    How does Vickie Guerrero bring no value to the show? shes way more interesting then Teddy Long is and i personally thing shes the greatest female villain to be in charge since Stephanie Mcmahhon, Chavo there making a fool of by making him face hornswoggle whos nothing but a laughing stock of the WWE hes meant to amuse the kids thats all his credibility is

    @Wrestling Guru

    How does no bleeding ruin a match? you dont need blood to have a good match i will admit i like blood from time to time but when it makes sense like in a First Blood match or something or when someone is getting hit with a bared wire bat is when it makes sense but TNA over exaggerates their blood with a little chair shot? or a punch to the face? it just makes it look faker then its suppose to be & frankly seeing old men like Flair & Hogan cut themselves open to get a cheap pop kind of sickens me i mean think of it? people that cut themselves open must have serious mental problems lol and as for the chair shots WWE said their banning direct chair shots to the head doesn’t mean they cant block with hands blocking with hands is not a direct shot to the head have you been hit with a chair shot to the head? would you like one? WWE is protecting their wrestler not trying brain damage them direct shots to the head is different then a shot to the hand just last week edge got hit with a belt to the head from y2j

    My point is at some point a beating results in blood. Take Randy orton vs. John Cena last year in the I quit match. There should have been blood. And in Hell In A Cell and Elimination Chamber Matches? Come on!!

    Well Batista bled last week on raw from Kofi i no it wasnt intentionally but what do you expect WWE is pg now the WWE doesnt feel they need to have a blood bath to make have good matches like TNA does besides TNA is a copycat of the old WWF/WCW/ECW nothing that TNA does is Original there just a copycat of the old wrestling company’s i just named. their story line they do ive seen it a million times…
