- The first hour of last night’s three-hour TNA iMPACT scored a 1.69 rating with 2.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched hour of TV in TNA history.

The second hour slipped to a 1.44 rating but featured the most-watched 15 minutes in TNA history with a 1.88 quarter-hour rating for Hulk Hogan’s debut at 9PM EST, head-to-head with Bret Hart’s return on WWE’s RAW.

The least-watched segment of the show came at the end of the second hour with a 1.16 quarter-hour rating with the Pope vs. Wolfe match and AJ Styles interview. This segment went up against the DX vs. JeriShow match on RAW.

With some insiders feeling that TNA would get burried and not even get a 1.0 rating, this is great news for TNA. Wonder if the Spike folks will want to move them to Mondays full time if they can do this again?

I think ratings for both TNA and RAW are evidence of the fact that if nothing else the WAR between shows improved both ratings.

For tna to get a 1.5 overall is fairly impressive considering that they normally get 1.0 on average thats a 50% increase compared to raw that normally gets 3.0′s i believe?

TNA still got obliterated in the ratings. Until TNA can get more than 1500 people to attend a ppv outside of Universal, they shouldn’t even consider moving Impact to Monday nights full time. They are not ready. Not even close.

Yes that is a really good number for TNA. I only feel slightly bad since they really raised expectations through the roof about a 3.0 which was ridiculous. If you follow ratings though this was probably as good as you could expect and despite the poor coverage in the cage match it most certainly felt like a big time anything can happen atmosphere and non TNA fans I’ve talked to seem to be interested in the product now.

Cody true but if you look at the numbers TNA had a better increase then RAW even with Brett Hart so if anything is to be taken away from this its that having them go head to head is good for both companies.

I’m looking forward to seeing what else TNA can do even with the old guys.

It seemed to that its going to be the same as WCW was and I will only watch Tna when the wrestlers Ilike are on and if they do have the old nwo on I’ll never watch the show again and it is wrong to take something that Jeff Jarett built and have Hulk and Bishoff ruin it.

No, RAW got 5.6 million viewers, which was about a 3.5ish rating. Even though TNA got beat in the ratings, the 1.5 average is incredible. I was watching both shows, merely muting the one i was least interested in. I haven’t watched or seen TNA in forever, though I used to watch it. Watching the two products really made me appreciate TNA so much more. RAW was the same old crap, the ONLY thing that had me interested was simply seeing Bret Hart in the WWE and hearing him talk, that was it. TNA was loaded with amazing matches and surprises. You didn’t know what free agents were going to show up next. Jeff Hardy, I think was the biggest shocker on Impact. TNA just came off so much more raw and old school. It had guys running around trying to bash other guys in, someone mysteriously beating other wrestlers backstage, Hardy, Flair, NWO/Hogan, an inovative cage match and an incredible match in Angle vs Styles.

Though Bret Hart in WWE was a HUGE deal, it was the only thing, I think RAW had going; if Bret wasn’t on the screen it was just another boring PG rated, childish DX with Hornswoggle RAW. Impact was hands down more consistently entertaining throughout the entire show.

RPM…I get what your saying. However, in my opinion TNA had by far the most room to improve. They only pull 1.0 ratings. So of course them improving to a 1.5 is going to look significant. However, that number isn’t all that impressive. Yes, it’s a 50 % increase but they were only pulling 1.0′s. So when it is seen in that light and you look at it objectively it’s not that impressive. When and if TNA ever pulls a 2.0 then and only then will that show real progression. However, they need to pull that on a Thursday before they ever give moving to Monday a thought. An like I said, they need to get more than 1000 or 1500 people in arenas for ppv’s outside Universal. They have a very long way to go.

TNA, although loaded with talent and potential, could never or atleast for now, match the quality production and live show interest that only the WWE provides. I have attended both a TNA and WWE live show, here in Orlando. WWE’s production is second to none, while TNA comes off more as a risque-amateur styled event. WWE is undoubtley the king of the hill, and such is evident in it’s Wrestlemania events in which crowds of over 20,000-80,000 attend, in comparison to the 1,500-2,000 fans that TNA peaks at. Anything is possible, but for now when wrestling and entertainment is considered, WWE is on top.

But TNA has been getting more than 1500 in areans for PPV’s outside Universal…

Genesis 2009 – 2700 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
    Lockdown 2009 – 4500 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Slammiversary 2009 – 4000 in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Bound for Glory V – 2400 in Irvine, California.

Those at the only 4 PPV’s they had outside of the Impact Zone, and they all drew over 2000 people.
