Backstage TNA Update: Jeff Jarrett & His Friends On The Way Out?

Following the firings of TNA creative member Dutch Mantel and agent Savio Vega on Friday, there are loud rumblings that other moves are in the works. At this point, almost everyone who is considered an ally of Jeff Jarrett is on edge. More specifically, B.G. James, Jim Cornette and referee Slick Johnson are all on the bubble, but no official moves have been made. Backstage sources also expect a broadcasting shakeup at some point as well.

The firings of Mantel and Vega, and the uncertainty of his other allies’ futures, have sources within TNA feeling that Jeff Jarrett is on his way out. If Jarrett does remain with the company, they feel he wont have as much power as before when he returns.

Taz and Pat Kenny have both been mentioned as possibilities to fill the agent role left open by Savio Vega’s release. Taz and Terry Taylor handled the duties at the most recent Impact tapings.

    I’m happy that this is finally being done and the steps are being taken to right the ship in TNA. IT was fairly apparent that the creative team was working to change TNA into the new WCW. WCW didn’t make it then and doubtful they would now. Its high time TNA goes back to what it once was, a promotion with oodles of talent and something to prove. Now heres to hopes that this all goes well and they get the correct people out of power and the correct ones into power.

    definitely hit the nail on the head! It’s about time TNA finds its roots and goes back to what made it a legit threat to the WWE in the first place.

    @ Andrew. TNA has never been bigger, in terms of viewership, merchandise, revenue, profitability and PPV buys than it has been right now. When has it ever been a ‘legit threat to the WWE’? It isn’t really one now and it certainly hasn’t been before now.

    In my opinion, if some is booking main events for a wrestling company, shouldn’t they have at least been in the ring for one? And main eventing in Puerto Rico’s WWC does NOT count. Anyone with 5 minutes under contract to WWE can main event there. Dutch Mantel? Savio Vega? Need I say more? And on a side note, the only time Jeff Jarrett is in a main event position is when either he or his best friends are in power. That guy coudn’t draw flies if he was a pile of cow manure. He can whine about not getting his “chance” in WWE all he wants, but here’s the real reason. The people in power there were smart, and didn NOT see anything of main event value in him.
