Backstage News on the RVD/Sting Angle from TNA iMPACT

- The segment where Sting kept beating Rob Van Dam down with a baseball bat on the March 8th iMPACT was not planned to go as long as it did.

It’s being said that Hulk Hogan was slow in doing the run-in so Sting had to improvise but apparently that’s not entirely correct. TNA had scripted a certain moment where Hogan would run-in in the early part of the second hour, based on a minute-by-minute breakdown of the January 4th iMPACT and when viewership peaked. The problem came when segments in the first hour ran short so they had to stretch things out going into the second hour.

Sting wasn’t supposed to take out the referees on the ramp or go back to the ring but he had to kill time because he was sent to the ring too early for the match, based on the breakdown they had scripted from.

stupid minor league promotion tna is, sad really sad. Decent talent except for wwe rejects and no brain in management, dixie carter is dumb for bringing pukester (hogan). Were watching the long slow painful ( desrved) death of tna, all becuse management has no faith in the original tna lockeroom. What a shame.

Yeah lets not give TNA a second to get into the flow, lets expect them to be perfect right out of the gate 3 live shows other than the ppv’s and damm they made a mistake lets get the firing squad together and line them up right?? WWE was perfect from day one and they took no time at all to grow? It was like boom and their they were on top with perfect shows and sky high ratings!!!!!! Research your WWE history obvioulsy you have computers and see just how WWE was doing 5 or 6 years into there start up!!!!

I’m sure the WWE has instances like this all the time, we just dont hear about them. I can think of many instances where “beatdowns” on Raw seemed to go longer then they should have. WWE is just very well may be as guilty at this as TNA at times.

stockshark, im not saying wwe is perfect not by a long shot but theres a reason why when it was all said and done wcw died and not wwe. i like tna from red to motorcity machineguns to odb there all good (except for fat joe and aj styles) my opinion. but dixie really dropped the ball by bringing in hogan and flair and rying to make the giant waste abbyss into a star. she should really have beer money as the stars of the company i mean look at robert rood hes a star dude is almost there, and im happy the pope is doing what hes doing dont get me wrong but hogan whos never had a god match is main eventing again really ? wowww. say what u want at least mcmahon can take a bump. and before anyone jumps downmy throat over aj and joe (my opinion) there overrated the only smart thing aj ever said was when called out joe on his nation of violence nonesense, and aj with his stupid robe and overthe top interviews boring and all u dumbys whi hate on j.r. for being a company man what about tenay? hes a stooge if ive ever seen one and taz? “im going to tna to be myself”, ill he did was drop one z and hes still the fat whad he was in wwe only more annoying, sad really sad i miss taz from ecw. scooter imnot trying to be funny there numbnuts that pure distain for hogan which if were all lucky well just die off already, ohhh history lesson it was piper the reason why wrestlemania 1 was a success him and orndoff are the rerasons why that match was descent. im out ur god MISFIT.

Mr.T and hogans star power was the reason it was a success to be honest neither could wrestle but they were the reason it was a success

misift ur name says it all. Joe and AJ Styles over rated? The stuff they do in the ring is better then the rubbish that goes on at wwe. cena this cena that, batista the big dope, dx boring as, sheamus..he comes out and does a kick and yells how gay he aint no wrestler. edge jericho and legacy thats something to watch ill give them that. TNA needed a change even if it meant brining Hogan and Bischoff in (Bischoff actually a very smart man) hes done this before he will learn from the mistakes made in wwe. TNA has been the better show these last 2 weeks pitty its getting nowhere near the amount of viewers as wwe but i know wat id rather watch..TNA

Some of you were hailing Hogan going to TNA. Now that he’s there, one can only hear insult after insult. Curiosity led me to view TNA once within the Hogan-era, and the production qualitiy and the amount of compromises that one must make to watch such a show, is far from acceptable or comparable.

I did wonder why they stretched that scene for so long it got old quick but I think Sting did quite well overall hitting the refs is a good heel act.

Hogan going to destroy Tna, Do Tna nt wonder y WWE wuldnt take hogan back an why WWE has offloaded all the ones who arent doing it anymore eg Mr kenned who never really made it in WWE. So every1 1 can put down WWE bt it is Byfar a better promotion than Tna. Flair looks really really bad in the ring hogan even looks outa place in the ring and bischoff just isnt the controvesial maniac he used to. And Mick foley?
