Ring Rust Review

By Daniel Interlandi on November 6, 2009

Welcome to the RRR, next week we begin the review of the weekly “episodic “wrestling programs we all love or hate depending on the night of the week. For now let’s talk about the hottest topics this side of the Batista heel turn. Of course I’m talking about Shane-o-Mac leaving the WWE nest. The second is the Hulk Hogan Production Company taking over TNA.

Let’s start with Shane, why Shane why? Well why not, I’m sure Shane has his own dreams and ambitions that have been hampered by the family business, breaking away might be the only way to go, sure he could be helping Mom on the campaign trail, (btw if I don’t vote for her and she looses can we go back to non-PG WWE?..just saying) or he could be going the MMA route, or hey his wife is loaded maybe father-in-law offered him a job, maybe just maybe he realizes that with Steph & HHH he might be the odd man out, maybe, maybe, maybe. Where was I? Oh, why not, Vince broke away to start his Empire, Shane should be given the chance to do whatever he wants on his own , I think he’ll be fine, good luck Shane whatever you decide to do.

Now on to TNA’s big deal, Hogan & Co. are “taking over” TNA, and there is already talk of all the great superstars that are going to follow, like Brutus Beefcake Brother whatever he’s called, or hey I smell a Nasty Boy, and of course the start of a new Monday night show, gee what a great idea. OK people lets not get to giddy yet, because it’s not going to work, you hear me Dixie, not going to work…..or maybe? The reason we had a Nitro/Raw war had nothing to do with Hogan, the NWO, Austin, DX or even Uncle Eric trying to out WWF, The WWF. The war was about one thing Vince McMahon vs. Ted Turner, Vince had a vendetta for Ted, maybe stemming from Black Saturday back in ’84 (look it up) in any case Vince does not heart Ted. When Vince won the war and proved his superiority over Ted he had nothing else to prove he won his fight time to move on. This brings us to the present, wonder why WWE programming sucks, the talent is there, but Vince doesn’t care anymore, he has moved on, he’s thinking beyond wrestling. Now along comes Dixie and Hogan poking with the stick, Hogan has “betrayed” Vince, in essence started or took over a company to run against the WWE machine. The only question now is if Vince still has that fire somewhere or has he gone beyond the point of caring about wrestling? Let’s watch…………….
